Yes JMU,

That's like telling a geometry teacher they can't teach the pythagorean theorem.

I came across this quote this morning:

Quote:Any policy that loosens the ironclad relationship between location-location-location and school-school-school would eliminate the need for parents to pay an inflated price for a home just because it happens to lie within the boundaries of a desirable school district.

A well-designed voucher program would fit the bill neatly. A taxpayer-funded voucher that paid the entire cost of educating a child (not just a partial subsidy) would open a range of opportunities to all children. . . . Fully funded vouchers would relieve parents from the terrible choice of leaving their kids in lousy schools or bankrupting themselves to escape those school

And who said that? Well none other than Elizabeth Warren in 2003.

Hell, forget Michigan.. this is what the current Department of Education has given us across the country:

Fox News

Quote:They recently released the results of a worldwide exam administered every three years to 15-year-olds in 72 countries. The exam monitors reading, math and science knowledge.

Based on their findings, the United States saw an 11-point drop in math scores and nearly flat levels for reading and science.

The Land of the Free, Home of the Brave, fell below the OECD average – and failed to crack the top ten in all three categories.

It's obvious that standard operating procedure is a failure when it comes to many public schools. Possibly trying something new is a good thing. Folks are afraid of change, especially if employment is tied to the status quo. I figure that's why folks are all up in a hissy fit over recent events.

In order for public schools not to be in such bad shape,.. first get rid of the lazy teachers.

Really these people are just an entitlement group mooching off the tax payers for their healthcare and retirement. Often times the retirement is a plan designed where they themselves don't have to participate or contribute towards and YET, they still reap a benefit.

Bottom feeders! If you can't do....teach.
