Also, I LOVE that they just offered Illinois's first commit in Coran Taylor. Getting him to flip to NIU and getting payback for them flipping our first commit would be epic if Carey pulls this off

Also a stud Center. Schools had been offering him at that position until they saw him play D-Line at camps. Could be a steal.

NIU has dropped to the fourth best class in the MAC on 247 rankings, but one or two more 3 Star guys would probably put NIU back on top. Not that those rankings matter in the least.

Just guessing, but I think Uremovich and Rice have been huge in recruiting and it does not hurt to have a Heisman finalist on staff.

I think the biggest thing was that Couch U and Kane both went and recruited against some of the best at NC State and Kansas. Definitely has helped NIU since they have come back IMO.

Coach U and Coach Kane have been huge and then brining in Rice and bringing back Lynch I think have been major keys to recruiting success. Clearly they convinced Carey of a different approach. Now, they have to go and coach the kids.
