Steve Taylor Double Doubles Ranking
Steve Taylor Jr. is tied for 2nd nationally in Double Doubles (Double Digit Points & Rebounds in a game) with 17 in 22 games. Purdue's Caleb Swanigan leads with 24 in 20 Games. Kent State's Jimmy Hall is tied for 9th with 14 in 23 games. Taylor is ranked 3rd nationally in total rebounds at 12.5 per game. I would say this Transfer, even though for only 1 year, has worked out very well for The Rockets!

Still, I can't imagine where we'd be without him.

Oh, I can. Winless in the MAC at this point.

RE: Steve Taylor Double Doubles Ranking
I think Steve tries to do too much. Teams double team him down low but he still tries to go to the hoop. Quick passes to Sanford or Navigato for 3 pointers would likely bring better results. Fouling Steve often results in only one point so teams play the percentages and foul when needed to stop him from making a 2 point field goal.

Leads the team in assists AND shooting percentage. Can't be taking too many bad shots. Agree that he could kick out some to keep from getting fouled but BG and other teams have fouled him as soon as he touches the ball so he sometimes doesn't have that option. If he shot 65% on FTs we'd probably be in second or third place.

RE: Steve Taylor Double Doubles Ranking
Steve Taylor Jr. is simply a beast. What he needs is some help down low. There isn't any. Garber will help because he's a big body. He can help get the ball to ST before they double/triple team him by blocking people out. Luke's too skinny and can't push anyone away, or gets pushed out of the way. ST is a power forward playing both 4 and 5.

His foul shooting is an issue, which will be exploited when the time comes for the other teams.

I was too hopeful early, but 4th in the MAC (as predicted if I remember right) seems about right at this point.

At the same times, not many things have gone right this year.

I never would have dreamed that Taylor could fill Boothe's shoes, but I think he has. They have some different strengths, but I think that Taylor has been as effective and valuable as Boothe was. Never would have predicted that.

Well, then try to imagine where we're going to be next season. Sanford, Navagoto and a handful of newbies. I can see 40 years without a trip to the NCAA becoming almost inevitable at this point.

Fletcher is sitting out as a transfer. He will be an impact player next season.

Willie Jackson, when eligible, will bring a lot to the table... TK said at a coaches show awhile back that Jackson is a larger version of Rian Pearson...

The newbies, with the possibility of getting a another quality big man(J.Epperson) will make for an interesting 2017-2018 season...
