Yup. http://therunneronline.com/?p=14832
I'm guessing that, in part, is why the men's game started so chippy. It was easy to see the double-technical call less than 3 minutes in coming from a mile away. Vernon & Ndoye were warned about their jawing at each other, literally, the first time down the floor.
Players settled down after double Ts, but refs never did. I don't think officiating is ever an excuse for losing & that is true of GCU'S game Saturday. I will say, however, that the heavy-handed nature of how they called that game made it nearly unwatchable basketball. Y'all need to be praying your games don't get that Allen/Fowler/Chelette crew. Just awful.

GCU is playing UTRGV Thursday with two of their best players suspended, and UTRGV also has three players suspended. Mary Savoy and Lile Havili have been suspended indefinitely, and Markeisha Watson was arrested the week before last. Watson was RS anyway, and Havili is a bench player, but Savoy was our top rebounder and second top scorer.

I heard about watson but what did savoy and havili do? I'm guessing their college career is done since they're both seniors.

No clue and I wouldn't want to speculate. UTRGV is tight lipped about such things (as they should be). Don't know if you've followed the last 3 WBB games, but Turk, Murphy, and Van Tilburg have been starting.
Side note on MBB: it's been a lot of fun seeing Moe McDonald getting a lot of minutes and now starting. Back when we used to get large crowds there were significant players from the Valley and I think those things are connected.

Both men's and womens teams are very rough and dirty. They were trying to provoke the Aggies (mens teams) when they were down here in Cruces. Let's see what happens in Bakersfield.
