The strike also has a social media presence with a Facebook event that has 23,000 interested and 14,000 committed to attending.

The truly sad part about all of this is that they are going to take a day off and go back to their lattes and bull**** after that while 90% of the United States will work that day and continue to struggle.

The Democrats, and the left in general, are no longer the party of the working people. They are the party of pampered elitists, freaks, and illegal immigrants.

They just want a 4 day weekend. Monday the 20th is a holiday. Most of them call in sick on Fridays anyway.

This "novelist" or whatever name it uses, is writing for the guardian and calling for a "general strike" (very maoist of you, BTW) to protest that people living under sharia "law" in some far flung hell-hole or something similar don't have the same protections of our being a United States Citizen and enjoying the protections bestowed upon is by our Constitution.

Nah mfer. I have as many qualms about the Trump Administration as the next guy, but strikes and constant demonstrations aren't going to do anything. Democrats need to tie up their separate identity groups and also go for the middle of America. It's easier than they think. You're also going to have to work with Trump on something, as bad as that sounds.

Now haven't we seen the unions embracing Trump's anti-trade rhetoric? Aren't the unions happy that Keystone and possible infrastructure projects will provide construction jobs?

They don't have to do anything for 2 years. Democratic Party will have a clearer picture of where the country stands after midterms, and if the GOP continues to have major power, they'll have to work with Trump.

If the GOP loses ground, they don't have to do anything because it will be a sign that Trump could potentially be a 1 term President anyway.
