It will be close...New linebackers new QBs New OC new center new Dline with current coaches and errors from last year...6-6 is my hope
Looking at OOC - New Hampshire and UMass should be wins. If team bounces back and Indiana suffers due to coaching shakeup, that's a possible third win.
Turning towards Sun Belt play, it seems entirely reasonable (not probable, but reasonable) that the Eagles could get back to the 8-9 win mark if they play well OOC.
As bad as last season was, just a little bit more luck or talent would have had GS bowling. stAte literally handed us the game, but we managed to keep declining it. GaSt was spotted a 14-0 lead in about 37 seconds and GS was clearly the better team the rest of the way. And the Eagles stayed in the game against ULL despite playing a third-string true freshman at QB.
Those aren't excuses and anyone can play the 'IF' game. My only point is that a season full of suspect coaching and GS fans screaming that the world was ending was - without stretching too far into the hypothetical - a handful of plays away from being an 8-4 season.
We were one play away from 6-6 at least.
4th and ******* 16
You were also one play away from being 4-8.
Yea and our coach wondered why we weren't happy sitting at 3-0.
