How is this team stacking up compared to our predictions?
We are only 1 win away from my own 18 victory thought for this year's team. Clearly we will surpass that by a good bit. I'm thrilled to be wrong with my original win total. Personally, I had no significant expectation this year, which made for a stress free existence. The team has overachieved as has the coach. Kudos to them. Just keep winning.

We have laid a couple of eggs but overall I think they are overachieving. I hope they don't wear out down the stretch.

Said eggs being laid was certainly expected in some form or fashion. And there may be more. This team has over performed and done well. You're right though.

We will probably finish 2-3 wins ahead of my expectations.

What were we at this point last season? 14-9?

I thought we could get to 25 wins, with the help of conference tournament. If I had to guess I think we will probably lose two more games in regular season. That puts us at 23 wins. If we can win two in tournament, we would be at 25. All that said I think we at least finish at 23 wins.
I do think we will beat either Cincinnati or SMU. I think it will be tough to win more than one of these three games--->UCF, Cincinnati, SMU.

Definitely better than I thought we would be, and basically zero drama.
No matter what else you say about Tubby, you have to acknowledge that he knows how to run a program.

The Tigers are a little ahead of where I expected them to be. That ole miss game was poor. I am much more happier with the way they look on the court than the previous two years.

I call BS from PL yet again. More bull and more agenda. To say we didn't give it our all is ridiculous.

I say of cfu, smu, and cincy we win 2 out of 3. I keep waiting for the "accumulated minutes" to become a bigger issue, but so far so good.
And I predict that Keon or Craig goes for 12+ points off the bench today.

Wow do I hope you are right about beating two of the three out of Cincinnati, SMU, and UCF. That would be special! If I got to pick the two, I'd take a loss today and the two wins at Cincinnati and at SMU!!
I like your prediction on Keon and Craig today. I'd take that and be pleased. I hope Tacko Fall gets in foul trouble today and Markel gets in the guards heads again.

I certainly don't think the guys gave their all in the Tulsa game.

We can agree to disagree then. Just because a player or two is playing bad/poorly doesn't mean they weren't trying.
The real issue is with our resident agenda man who finds ways in most of his postings to trash our coach and be overly critical. You know there's a problem when a poster never has anything positive to say, and never gives the coach credit, but yet tears down on a daily basis.
But again, you're free to have your opinion.

RE: How is this team stacking up compared to our predictions?
The team is definitely ahead of where I thought they would be. Our schedule has been fairly weak overall, but that doesn't diminish what they have done. Considering our total lack of depth and the amount of minutes they guys are playing, it's a wonder we haven't had a few more stinkers along the way. If everyone stays around then this is the kind of year that will hugely benefit next year's team with hopefully more depth coming in. Tubby has done a fine job with this group so far.

They are better than I expected. Especially since the only known entity was Dedric. KJ was an unknown and he was very selfish in limited play last year. Martin didn't get much playing time. Crawford had regressed. Randall was basically unknown as well. And who knew how Rivers and Keon were gonna turn out.
Considering so much uncertainty, the team has overachieved IMO. Some may point to player rankings but that doesn't mean much when we hadn't seen enough player development over the last 7 years. The turnaround has been surprising to me at least. I thought it would take more than a season to get rid of bad habits. Glad to see the growth in Martin, Crawford and KJ.

Absolutely. I think Randall has a ton more confidence as well. Rivers has progressed and steadily improved all season long too.

I know not nearly as many people care and are tuned into Tiger bb as there used to be. It's not even close.

RE: How is this team stacking up compared to our predictions?
I predicted 17-14 in the regular season, but I was basically calling a game against any decent team a loss (and that's a low definition of decent.)
That was thinking Kessee would continue shooting 40% from three, Crawford would be terrible like last year, Chad would need half a season to get in game shape, Keon might be our starting point guard, Jimario would be slaw, Randall would be slaw, and maybe KJ would learn not to try to do too much. And, of course, that the team would go as Dedric goes. At least I got that part right.
