Just an observation since I recruit student-athletes on the east coast and find the combo of student and athlete to be less and less common.
Same practice schedule, same tutors, same environment. Differing effort
So you work for Enterprise?

"Management training" the said. "Reasonable hours" they said.

Hahaha. Their pitch is easy to see through for most students. Although those that aren't so sharp end up where they belong in a dead end job.

RE: 2017 FB Roster Notes
Few moves over the last week or so:
Simba Parker (rSr. RB) is no longer on the roster. Didn't see any game action.
Ryan Horner (rFr. S) is now Ryan Green?
Most impactful though, is that Brandon Brown (rSr. DL) is no longer on the roster. He's played in nearly every game throughout his career. He began as a TE and started a few games there as a rFr. Switched to DL and has been a contributor there since. Played in every game last year with six starts. He and Darrious Carter had gone back and forth on the two deep but Carter started all the games in the playoffs. Carter had probably taken over the spot, but Brown would have likely seen a lot of playing time in the rotation.

How about Spring injuries? I believe DK during his podcast was talking about many OL injuries, anyone hear of any?

RE: 2017 FB Roster Notes
The following players are no longer listed on the roster. None had seen playing time. Snead seemed like a promising prospect. Good size and strong HS resume.
Neeshant Parikh (QB, rJr.)
Cory Owen (WR, rSo.)
Robert Snead (OL, rFr.)
Also, Trey Wilson (rFr.) and Robert Carter Jr. (rJr.) both changed positions to LB. Wilson was previously listed as a DB and obviously didn't see playing time last year. Carter Jr. was a CB last year, but had changed position to S prior to Spring Practice. He played in every game, primarily on special teams.

Also, for Freshies the Gen Ed classes are not that difficult if you put the effort in and take those 100 level classes seriously. And for some "studs" they probably just want to stay eligible and graduate with putting the long hours in academically. Shoot I thought having 21 athletes in the article was high.

Did anyone ever hear what happened with Anthony Womack?

RE: 2017 FB Roster Notes
I think Womack was enrolled at JMU at one point. Never heard whether he transferred or otherwise left school and ended up playing elsewhere.
A few more names have recently dropped off the roster. All were rising rFr.
Ryan Green (Horner), S
Mike Mabry, DL
Lawton Riggs, TE

Well I guess this explains how we'll be bringing in 2-3 transfers this offseason.

Guess the new name didn't work.

RE: 2017 FB Roster Notes
Few more rising redshirt freshman dropped off:
Skyler Clark, WR
John Gardiner, P
Ryan Kluck, WR
Christian Launius, LB
Also no longer listed is rJr. K/P, Pat Frio.
With Frio & Gardiner leaving, only Tyler Gray (Jr. K), Jeremiah McBride (rFr. K/P), and Ethan Ratke (rFr. K) remain on the roster as veteran K/P specialists. I hope the incoming Aussie kid is good, because it appears as though there isn't much of a plan b. Maybe we simply won't punt.

During my daily call with Coach Houston where he picks my brain for advice, ^^^this^^^ is indeed our game plan for this season.

RE: 2017 FB Roster Notes
Lots of number updates, including assignments for the incoming freshmen. I won't list all the freshman but I did notice Clayton Cheatham got his brother Dean's #37.
Number changes for returning players:
Gus Little #3 (was #31).
Jimmy F'in Moreland #6 (was #37).
Bryce Maginley #11 (was #43).
Brandon Hereford #14 (was #49).
Braxton Westfield #14 (was #89).
Adam Smith #21 (was #30).
Nick Carlton #81 (was #82).
Jake Brown #89 (was #5).
Braxton Westfield is a WR, so he and Hereford can share #14 since they won't be on the field at the same time.
Other updates:
Jacob Rosen (rFr. LB) is no longer listed on the roster. Incoming freshman Noah Beckley is now listed as a QB/ATH. He was previously just listed as ATH.

RE: 2017 FB Roster Notes
Incoming freshman Joe Hunt wearing 82 and listed as a Tight End. Was anyone else hoping he would start out with the Linebackers? We seem to have plenty of young talent around the TE position.

Ahhh I see that now. Thanks! 6'3 220 is a hell of a frame to start with as a true freshman - can't wait to see how he develops.

Yeah his position listing threw me off too as first. His size and speed he's shown is going to be great to watch develop. Really talented kid
