Remaining Hoops Schedule
UC has nine (9) remaining games, including five at home and four on the road. All are winnable games, but at SMU (very possibly a loss), at UCF, at UConn and home games against UConn, UCF, Tulsa, Memphis and Houston will all require good to outstanding play by the Bearcats in order to prevail. I predict that the Bearcats will go 7-2 in the remaining games and wind up with an overall record of 27-4 (16-2 in conference) before AAC Tournament play begins. That should be good enough for a #4 seed in the NCAA Tourney and possibly a #3 if UC can win the conference tourney championship, likely against a very good SMU team. That would put UC at either 29-5 or 30-4 entering the NCAA's. Hopefully, Nysier Brooks gets back on the court quickly and we suffer no more injuries in what so far this year has been a pretty healthy and successful year. What say others?

I cant recall a game at Moody where we didn't, at the very least, compete. I think we win that one.

But I also see a loss somewhere else along the way. Possibly UCF or Memphis.

I'm not looking past UConn yet

Feb 8, 2014 SMU won 76-55. I remember listening to that one on the radio and it was bad.

Yeah that might have been SMU's biggest home game ever up to that point (or at least in a long time) as UC was on a long winning streak and ranked #7 in the country. The celebrities (George Bush, Tony Romo off the top of my head) were there. They stormed the court.

Them two years ago UC won and last year UC should have won but blew a late 10 point lead.

RE: Remaining Hoops Schedule
8-1 for the remaining stretch - they lose at SMU. This team has the players and the confidence to go play their game and they can only beat themselves with the remaining schedule.

The problem with the Cats going 7-2 in that stretch is SMU (9-1) will also need to lose one more game in order for UC to win the CC. IMHO not winning the regular season title would take some luster off the diamond. Mick's program needs a conference championship and it would help build momentum for not only the upcoming tourney but next year as well to defend the AAC crown.

@UCONN will be tough. They will be looking for that win to salvage their season. I also am not looking past Memphis, Tubby is a good game coach and Dedrick Lawson is the best player in the league and could be a lotto pick. I am not expecting an SMU win but would be please try surprised if they did.

UConn should not be tough. Their roster is depleted. They will probably only have 6 scholarship players available. They might keep it close for a half, but we should run away with it in the final 20 minutes. We are 14 point favorites for a reason.

That game in 2014 was two days after we won a dog fight with a ranked UCONN team at home on a Thursday night. They turned around an flew to Dallas to play a very good SMU team and we were the biggest game they had there in years. I think Mick probably just conceded that one by halftime.

Didn't realize this:

On Wednesday, Gary Clark of @GoBearcatsMBB became the #AmericanHoops career rebounds leader, while Troy Caupain tied the career steals mark

Yeah at home but we are a different team on the road. It's crazy how much worse we play in someone else's gym and that should be every Bearcats biggest concern about this season. If the NCAA tournament were played at 5/3 I would bet a lot of money on us getting to the final 4 but given how we have played on the road and neutral sites I am not confident about March at all. Optimistic yeah, I know we have the players to compete at the highest of levels, but sadly not confident at all.

RE: Remaining Hoops Schedule
What concerns me is with the exception of SMU, is every team the rest of the way a bad loss? I think they need to win them all and the tourney to get a 3 seed. Im thinking they will end up with a 5. I hope they run the table. With the tourney being in hartford again, they always play Uconn...ugh..i despise this conference lol
