I wish he would just be more aggressive. He is the second most athletic person on the team, has great height for his position, and just stands outside jacking threes. If you put Hak's aggression and heart in Dirks body you would have a potential NBA lottery pick.

If you put Baxter's heart into every other player on the team, we would have about five more wins.

Dirk has been the biggest disappointment on the team this year IMO. He's really struggled as our "go to" guy. It's not just his lower shooting percentage, either. He just doesn't look like the same player. MAYBE haase was right all along to restrict his minutes so much last year when we were all calling for him to play a lot more. Maybe he's just no better than a sixth man..

I dont even think Eshan was outcoached, he simply didnt take advantage of the matchups. Utep took a page from the byu handbook and used its size with two 7fters on the court together or subbing for one another. This was a good time to get Mehinti and Smallwood time on the floor together. Smallwood wouldve appeared when Utep's Kevin Jones did.

The only thing different I would have done is played Smallwood and tried him on the 7. And maybe press more. Other than that the players have some responsibility to perform.

I would agree about Dirk. I would also add to that Coak and Ha ha disappearing in key moments is almost as frustrating.

Players have to make plays. We had them in position to do so as. They didn't. We have another opponent today btw. I suspect it will go down to the wire as most road conference games do.
