Matthew McConaughey wants Hollywood to embrace Donald Trump
Good luck speaking rationally to those leftists in Hollywood. Good to see an A list actor speak up.

Matthew McConaughey thinks his fellow actors' attitude about President Donald Trump is not alright, alright, alright.
The actor said in a new interview that it's time for Hollywood to "embrace" Trump and get over it.
"Well, they don’t have a choice now. He's our president," he told ChannelFI. "And, it’s very dynamic and as divisive of an Inauguration and time as we've had. At the same time, it’s time for us to embrace and shake hands with this fact. And be constructive with him over the next four years."
The 47-year-old said it's okay to strongly disagree with some of Trump's policies but it's important to wait and see how his first term in office plays out.
"So anyone, even those who may strongly disagree with his principles or things he’s said and done — and that’s another thing, we’ll see what he does compares to what he has said — no matter how much you even disagreed along the way, it’s time to think about how constructive can you be," he shared.
Why is McConaughey taking on this attitude of embracing Trump while his fellow stars are largely against him?
"'Cause he's our president for the next four years, at least," he said, "the President of the United States."

I hope Ford keeps paying him to pimp Lincolns.

I guarantee you there are other Hollywoodites who feel similarly but will refrain from making public comment. He, like Tom Hanks, are secure enough in their job security and income to take a more conciliatory tone.

Wooderson: Say, man, you embrace Donald Trump?
Hollywod: No, not me, man.
Wooderson: It'd be a lot cooler if you diid.

He is one of the few with clout that can get away with being open. I expect he could raise the money and make a film without hollywood on his own. I applaud him for his comments.

Speaking of celebrities that are getting hated by the press is Tom Brady. The sports page had a column on him. I respect him more as a man now but not so much as a QB. He's that good and he doesn't play for my team.

RE: Matthew McConaughey wants Hollywood to embrace Donald Trump
IMO, "embracing" him is just as fruitful as hating him. Either way isn't a good way to judge him. He's voted in now. Drop the support and hate because we're in a different game than election time. He's the Head Coach of our football team. Celebrate his wins when they come and question him hard about losses (especially those lost in particularly stupid fashion and those resulting from obvious oversights and bad management).
In a perfect world everybody should unite behind the fact that he works for us, judge his actions individually, let it be known that support and disdain are highly conditional.

It helps that his fellow actors like him. If he were like Hollywood's Ann Coulter, I'm pretty sure he'd have to independently produce all his stuff forever.
