Awesome. Another offseason victory. Now, let's see if they can actually win the division.

On paper, looks to be a very solid class! Just wish we would have gotten a couple ILB's with size and speed that can play immediately ( JC or 5th year guy). It is going to be a big hole next year and was the main reason we didn't get one the hump this year. We have to improve on linebacking play.

Agreed... LB is very thin next year....

Woodley Sr
Blue so
Olekanma Jr
Linch sr
walton RS fr
Taafe jr
Crider fr
Patterson fr

Look for more grad transfers at LB or a JC signing before 2017 season.

We're going to struggle mightily if we don't shore up that LB corps. I'd rather not see Taafe as the starter again, he got beat time and time again whenever he was out on the field. Really hoping Chris Norwood comes back to life, that would be huge for us.

Btw, WMU's LB'ers Spillane, Bailey, and Brown were not big guys.
They're like 6'2" 218, 6'0" 236, and 6'0" 203.

Considering the de-commits as signing day approached, I thought the coaching staff did a very good job.

I concur. Losing Barnes really hurt, and it would have been nice to keep Warren in the hometown. But there's plenty to be happy about with this recruiting class. DEs in particular stand out to me, where we have a number of talented guys coming in...and thinking back to last season, when we struggled to maintain consistent pressure on the QB and gave up plenty of 10+ yard runs around either end, it looks like the coaching staff is determined to address those issues with a combo of size, strength & quickness.

I have my doubts that Norwood will ever see the field. UT will honor his scholarship and prove to the local coaches that they stand by all players and especially the local boys but he is most likely "damaged goods". I wish he could heal and play but it's problematic for sure.

At LB, Crider looks to be an impressive specimen for a HS Senior at 6'2" 210-215lbs. He played RB as well and has some quicks. I watched a vid of him on Hudl and think he might be one of those "under the radar" picks that will pan out nicely for the Rockets. He is one of those guys that looks like he's really smooth and barely trying, yet he is flying past everyone (Marcus Allen, Terrelle Pryor etc.).

Crider looks tremendous on tape. gotta love the way he hits. prob not the lower body strength to play inside a lot early in his career but would expect him to play special teams right away and maybe earn some snaps somewhere in the scheme,

Crider might already be the best tackler on the roster! Love the way he attacks the ball carrier. I could see him add ten pounds by summer and potentially be the our second inside LB. I think this class is extremely talented. Kudos to staff!

Tackles around and thru the waist. Doesn't arm tackle up high around the shoulders. Looks like he needs to learn some linebacking techniques. But has the tackling basics mastered.

coming from you I value that assessment. some of the staff was quoted earlier in the recruiting process as saying signing Crider was one of the goals of the class.
