By my count, ECU had 9 players in this year's class choose us over P5 offers as well as 4* Auburn transfer Tim Irvin.

I know it's somewhat arbitrary but I think it's a good sign for the conference when kids are choosing our teams over the P5. I would like to see a majority of our recruits pick us over the P5 as we continue in our quest to close the gap.

No matter how hard the P5 attempts to marginalize our conference there will always be a place for our schools in the landscape of college football. There are so many kids out there that want to play America's most popular sport. You may have an idea but you never know how talent will develop. After all these recruits are only 17/18 years old. Good coaching and work ethic can turn 2* into 4* as we at ECU have seen over the years. It's all about the culture a school can create. That said, it's always a good sign when these kids choose our respective institutions over the glitz & glamour of the P5.

For UConn, I know of at least three players who chose UConn over P5. Four if you count a transfer from the Gamecocks.

There may be more that I don't know of, though. Anyway, it looks like most of the AAC did fairly well on the recruiting trail.

I'm only counting 6 of our 12:

Tank Robinson
Trace Christian
Tyree Owens
Brandon Henderson (Kansas, so barely counts)
Darius Pinnix
Blake Proehl

Were you counting the prior enrollments?

Which P5 school offered Holton? 247 only has USM, Marshall & WKU as his other offers.

Our class really fizzled out today. Ended up with 7 players with p5 offers. Most of em on the lower end; Kansas and Illinois types.

We had a 4star QB/athlete who sent his letter in but then backed out to sign with Auburn because of a last second phone call from an Auburn coach. That one really hurt.

Our Annapolis Capital beat writer:

http://www.capitalgazette.com/sports/nav...story.html

Mentions 4 commits with offers from 6 different P5 schools. Rounding out the P6, talks about some battles won/lost with AAC schools.

Suck year for Chad Morris's 3rd class. 8 of 15 had P5 offers. Our 3 OL commits led the way with 22 between them.

If This Rank By Offers Site largely stays the same, that addition of Cordarrian Richardson will put UCF at ~#35 in the nation.

When you get a G4 offer you crumble the paper in a nice ball and shot for the trash can.
