Looks like it's being posted a number of locations that the new UL Athletic Director will be Bryan Maggard. He is currently listed as the executive associate athletic director at Missouri.

As screwed up as the Missouri Athletic Department currently is, this is a risky hire that could go really well, or fail spectacularly.

Doug Gillin, App State's AD, came from Missouri. Take it FWIW.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with his introduction and acceptance at the university this afternoon, and also very impressed with the Q&A with the local radio this afternoon.

Looks like a solid hire.

The 3 finalist was a guy from OU, guy from LSU and Maggert. It was the LSU up until the very last minute.

I thought the last AD had about maxed out the potential of the Cajun athletic dept.

Probably a mistake replacing him and hoping for better.
