Apparently it's between Alabama for a baseball-only offer, and Troy, Tennessee, and Ole Miss for a football/baseball combo offer.
Nothing against Troy, but I doubt Bubba Thompson ever makes it to campus. He is expected to be drafted fairly high in baseball. Would be a steal if you can keep him though. Great kid and great athlete.

Hope we can. I hope the prospect of playing/improving in baseball, playing football, and getting a degree will persuade him. It would be bad news if he didn't make the 40-man roster for a minor league team after being drafted. Troy has persuaded a few high draft picks to come to Troy in recent years, so hopefully that's the case here.

Neal Brown seems to feel pretty confident.
For his sake, I hope he does sign somewhere. I would like to see what he can do in college football. I've watched him twice this year and was very impressed. Of course he did shave a stacked roster of WRs, but he was good at getting them the ball quickly.

The age is 21. That is the reason it take longer to get juco LOI's in.
I don't think that's true. A basketball player for Charlotte (Pierria Henry) once committed to VCU. His mom wouldnt sign the LOI because she wanted him to stay in WV and go to Marshall. When he turned 18, VCU no longer had a spot for him so he signed a LOI with Charlotte.
You can't drink until you're 21 but you can go to war, smoke and sign your college (and other legal documents) at 18. In most states that's the age of majority. It just figures that Alabama is one of those exceptions (I just looked it up). Majority in AL is 19.
I think we had this happen with us and App a couple of years ago. Seemed like the kid did something different than the LOI. App was mad and bashed Fritz over it. Can't recall the details or the players name.
Here's the video of him signing his LOI with a Troy hat on:
until his parents or legal guardian signs it, the loi is not valid. she signed a Southern miss loi. She would not sign the troy loi
He's coming to Troy
gonna be difficult. We have a signed loi Troy doesnt.
The story coming out is that he wanted to sign with Troy and was looking forward to playing with fellow Alabama HS players at Troy, but his mom wouldn't sign the Troy LOI. She would only sign the USM LOI. His girlfriend is apparently going to Troy. Maybe mom didn't want him in Troy with her for whatever reason?
Very strange story. I get the feeling he isn't going to be happy at USM after this debacle.

Amazing facilities, great city, solid academics, pretty girls, and that river y'all have
Pretty easy to sell once you have a competent recruiter

FIFY
This would be called a creek in Georgia.
(finds picture of one of the least wide sections of river)
Then he goes nowhere. NLI isn't valid unless both parents and the athlete have signed. Its why coaches talk so much about recruiting mom and dad. They can literally hold a kid hostage and force him to sign at the school they prefer.

Only one guardian has to sign it. I remember Alex Collins having the same issue. His mom wanted him to go to Miami, so she wouldn't sign his Arkansas LOI and on signing day, she took it and disappeared. He just got another one, tracked down his dad, and got him to sign it. His mother even hired an attorney to try and challenge it.
