While it wasn't brilliant enough to list Memphis, the #1 ranked class in the G5, as a winner... sure have to laugh at the losers!!!

Easy now according to B you might be making fun of the second coming

Not to nitpick, but isn't that a beaver and NOT a ground hog?

Here's the Jackson Sun list of rural West TN signees. It includes a couple of preferred walkons for us that I haven't seen listed elsewhere. I posted this and some details on one of the kids on the Recruiting board.

This kid has heart and a powerful backstory

Nice story. Tubby might want to look at this kid, also.

I doubt Norvell will let him play basketball

I wish we could have eze to eat space for a few minutes each basketball game. He'd make taco fall look like Michael Jackson.

I talked to the AD at USAFA when my son was on a visit, and he told me that they generally recruit 75 football players to find 25 or so that can play at that level. Keep in mind, that the 75 they recruit are top flight students who will make amazing officers one day even if they do not play football.

Navy ended up with 69; Army and Air Force were closer to 90. For comparison purposes, that is roughly typical size 4-5 years ago, and we graduated 31 seniors graduating from the football team, including scout team warriors.
(0 are on athletic scholarship. All Navy student athletes get the exact same ride as every other midshipman.)

RE: 2017 NSD Thread
As I understand it, you're going to play a sport if you attend a military academy. It's part of it. All schollies are the same. Could be cross country, wrestling, or football.

So if you get accepted, you can have a "signing day" for whatever sport you're going to tryout for. That's why the numbers are so big. Of course, they do recruit certain kids to play certain sports. Especially Navy and football. But the majority of the signees will not be playing in D1 games on a weekly basis.
