All appear to have excellent overall athletic ability.

Oakes basically a basketball player. Football totally unknown, would have to add 30+ lbs and possibly play TE I guess.

Brown looks like a really good athlete with plus speed and size. Mostly offensive and KR highlights, but hopefully he can develop into a good corner. Like this one.

Flowers good size, few highlights, total unknown.

I like the new blood at receiver. The best thing is none of them are needed next year unless one of them has home run speed.

Exactly. It's nice to have enough returning depth to be able to redshirt lots of these guys. Many positions, at that. All of them can get stronger and adapt to the speed of college athletes in practice without the pressure of being necessary for immediate impact. The Vince Calhoun's of the world, who can come in and look like a vet from day one, are very uncommon.

That would be my guess.

All known verbals are accounted for and signed.

Maybe have a few in the back pocket for spring out in JUCO land???

Unless we can get a highly rated OT my answer is yes. Yes for now.

Big, good looking athlete in highlights. DITR who'll hopefully develop into a replacement for Bailey and Nieuplau after they leave next year.

Oakes will probably redshirt so adding weight shouldn't be a problem. Flowers will also have time to develop. Raw athletic talent that will sit out a year and hit the strength and conditioning and be coached.

An overall class of 20 I think we may have one or two more in the pocket, there may be some departures after this semester we may need to back fill.

Like the versatility at WR and CB. Would love to see this guy develop into a starting corner at 6'1, 180+. Nice commit with legit offers.

Just a reminder that Grissom had offers from Minnesota, Purdue, Syracuse, NC State, Houston, Wake Forest, and Rutgers. How on earth did we land this kid? Even Roback, who was a 4* recruit, only had MAC offers. This has to be the best prospect that we've had in a VERY long time.

BTW, the website shows a number of players from 2016 listed on the 2017 signing list.

Are these players who walked on in 2016 and now being given scholarships?

E.g., A. Porter, Niupalau, etc.

A couple late Juco OT gems would fill this class perfectly, as far as NEED.

Overall quality, numbers of legit offers, and MAC ranking will likely still end up in the bottom quarter again.

Those 2 were certainly not walk-on's

Absolutely, no recruit comes close. Been holding my breathe since the day he committed. Only thing that makes sense is that he must be very close to family and Mom probably wanted him to stay close to home.

Need for him to be a legit player the minute he walks on campus. Local kid doing great things at EMU might create second looks from other good local players in the future.

Spring ball usually tells the tale pretty quickly when these true freshman show up.

As some of you mentioned there are guys like Samuelson. It looks like we will also some guys from last year included in this class potentially max it at 25.

Sow could play either defense or offense.

Probably that's true but it isn't anything new. All I can say it looks better today than did yesterday in terms of quality.

Must have pushed Porter and Niupalau forward somehow. Samuelson no idea, he hasn't shown the ability to contribute at all since he showed up. Sow definitely being recruited as OL. Too big and upright to play DT, plus we're really deep there already. Would be huge if Sow actually showed the foot quickness and ability to develop into a legit MAC OT after a redshirt year. Total unknown coming from Canada.
