The entire discussion about the MAC picking up a second bid is as realistic as saying this is the year the MAC puts in a team into a 4 team college football playoff. In other words its not worth discussing it.

The only way it could possibly change is if there is a complete overhaul of tournament selection criteria. This is something Jim Schaus the Ohio AD is working on trying to change.

Mac has to schedule much better non-conference. MAC should work out a challenge or cup with the MVC. Two 12 team leagues that play football. MWC is a peer conference for the MAC along with AAC,CUSA and the Sunbelt. MAC should work out some home and home deals with those leagues. Get high profile matchups say UConn vs Akron in Cleveland at the Q.

When Akron got the last 2 technicals Gillan also said "you win with class and you need to lose with class." Not a good showing for the Zips.

As for Ohio it was definitely a big win. The Bobcats are still finding their way following the loss of Campbell but make no mistake they are still a very talented team and will be dangerous in the MAC tournament. To be 6-4 and to bounce back from a horrible collapse at Western shows a lot of character. Before the season is over I'm sure they will both win and lose to someone they shouldn't but that's not unexpected. I'm loving watching Jason Carter mature quickly and becoming so aggressive attacking the basket. Right now Ohio just needs to make sure it can grab one of those top 4 seeds in the tournament. Looking at the schedule I think it's doable.

Just need to come out focused and firing vs CMU Tuesday.
