RE: Trump Supreme Court pick announced tomorrow
I believe Thomas Hardiman will be the nominee, although I was kind of hoping for Neil Gorsuch. As long as it is one of those two and not Pryor, I'll be satisfied. Hardiman is 51, so assuming he is as good as advertised, he should be an outstanding justice in the mold of Alito or Roberts.

Trump will soon need an executive order barring/weakening the filibuster - unless he just plans to sign a bunch of 4 year long executive orders.

Democrats and liberals are the enemies of America. Anything for them is a defeat for the country.

That's one of the most dangerous and disturbing things I've ever read.

ISIS (insert radical Islamic terror group here) and North Korea are the enemies of America.

Liberals (ones not corrupted by outside interests - I'm not talking about Clinton here) are people that have different methods than you of defeating this enemies.

Liberals can be stupid. Liberals can be misguided. They are NOT enemies to the Constitution and American values. There is a BIG freakin' divide there.

Dissent is not antagonism.

LOL. OK, I'm actually glad you trolled me. :D

Look, I've read too many fricked up things in the last two weeks. I can't tell if people are being lighthearted or not. I don't know you well enough.

People have said that SERIOUSLY around me. I'm not joking.

It is all good, man! Just having some fun after a weekend of food poisoning.

Text loses all the context. That is the drawback.

That is not good at all. I am a conservative, but most of my friends are liberals. I disagree with their political beliefs but it is coming from a sense of help.

Apparently Pryor is out.

He was probably not a good choice for this spot. Did have a lot of controversy attached and might not have gotten libertarian leaning Republicans.

Some liberals are enemies of the country. Probably put Harry Reid in that category. Maybe Hillary Clinton (or just an incompetent unknowing accomplice of our enemies) . Chuck Shumer is simply misguided.

Hardiman has little to nothing in terms of rulings on abortion. I wonder if pro life groups will be ok with that. They have been burned before

CNN is saying Gorsuch has been told he will be the nominee.

That means it will probably be Hardiman!

There is some (unsubstantiated) speculation that that's what will happen -- AMK retirement from SCOTUS, dual nomination.

It's going to be great when Ginsburg leaves, which is almost certainly to be in the next 8 years.

She miscalculated badly, but then again that's sort of what she does.

I'm definitely against life time terms for SC. It does no one any good. 10 year terms at least with each justice separated from those ten years by a space of two
That way a political party can have their own justice just by waiting. If a party is there for a long time then that's to their advantage and it plays both ways.

I'd go for 15 years.

The justices just get out of touch with the real world.

With district justices, they often get power hungry and arrogant.

That would be an interesting pick. I can get behind some legal pragmatism (to a degree) and law and economics. It'll never happen, though.
