I'm not posting this because I agree or disagree with it politically.

We had a topic within a thread the other day about the case of Al-Awlaki and criticizing Obama for killing him and his 16 year old son. One of the casualties from this raid was his 8 year old daughter.

I'm sorry but if you are a terrorist, having your family as human shields will not protect you. He had a moral obligation to protect his family by NOT being near them. I don't know the particulars of this case and the linked article only presents one side.

Trump is already in the lead when adjusted for deaths per day in office.

I get the distinct impression Les Miserables seriously root for this stuff despite the fact that they ignore the track record of Dear Leader.

These guys... I heard they make their bases next to civilian places intending a "shield" from moral and belic attacks after assaults. Pretty sad situation in any case the death of a child, particularly.

Again, it depends.. were the terrorists using them as human shields? Or was it bad information on a bad strike?

Nothing justifies the terrorist using family as human shields. No mo mistake, this is the terrorist fault, not anyone else's fault.

"The operation began at dawn when a drone bombed the home of Abdulraoof al-Dhahab and then helicopters flew up and unloaded paratroopers at his house and killed everyone inside," said one anonymous resident, in an account of the incident corroborated by Yemeni security staff.

"Next, the gunmen opened fire at the U.S. soldiers who left the area, and the helicopters bombed the gunmen and a number of homes and led to a large number of casualties."

Quote:In Pakistan, 24 men over the past three years were targeted, but the drone strikes resulted in the death of 874 people. Numerous strikes were aimed at each target, the data shows, but despite the endless attempts, just six of the targets actually died in the drone strikes. Among the dead were 142 children.

In another example of “targeted killings” gone wrong, in Yemen, strikes on 17 targets killed 273 people, including seven children.

It doesnt. Just pointing out the hypocrisy and faux outrage from the left. No chirp when Obama murdered thousands with drones but the minute DJT blasts a few dozen, outrage.

I understand collateral damage. While I regret that innocent people are sometimes killed, we still need to take every precaution possible to avoid that happening.

If that wasn't done in this situation, then I condemn it.

Not you specifically, the left in general, the left fails to call out its own on war crimes and murder while condemning the right for doing much of the same.

RE: Trump's first US military raid 'kills 30 civilians, including 10 women and children
This is the fallacy of 'clean' wars that we began in the 1960s.

Dead children on the 6:00 news is the enemies biggest weapon against us. That's why they hide their bombs in schools and churches and build their bombs at home. We have military bases and our fighters wear uniforms. That's how wars USED to be waged.

So we build smart bombs and drones and have these 'surgical' strike teams, putting OUR people at greater risk so as to put fewer of THEIR people at risk. As tragic as these deaths are, they obviously would have been far worse if we had simply dropped bombs.

It's not about right and wrong to me... it is what they have made it.

This is why I don't believe in 'limited' wars. If you don't want it dead and aren't willing to accept civilian casualties, you don't call the military.
