You're more likely to see Northeastern schools close than go to Division I.

Personally, I'd like to see Siena absorb St. Rose (D-II member of the NE10 with SNHU, Merrimack, Bentley, and formerly UMass Lowell). They're in city limits, so they don't have as many NIMBY zoning fights as Siena, who can't get permission for NCAA-caliber lights on the lacrosse field.

There are way too many D1 schools that do not have the student body to be up at D1. We have way too many D2 schools that have student body that are large to be D1. Trade the smaller schools out for the bigger schools.

Endowment matters more than enrollment.

Even with that in mind, he's right. And there are plenty that are at the D-I level that have no business there.
