I think he still would've had a very good game, but probably not AS good as he did. When a guy gets that hot, no defense can stop them.

Nate is obviously a very good shooter, but his form looks a big odd to me. He shoots from his chest instead of over the shoulder, and he doesn't get great lift on his jump when he shoots. He also brings the ball pretty low before he sweeps it back up to his release point. That being said, if he keeps knocking them down, I could care less about the mechanics of his shot. It's just something I noticed on the highlights. Like MB alluded to, it may be harder for him to get his shot off, especially given his mechanics, against teams that actually play decent defense.

Bear in mind, Reggie Miller's form was one of the oddest of all time..

Hak's primary assignment was to be Filer who went for 24...

If i was Rob he sits three games , but he only got one.

I think Nate filled in for Javien who filled in for Hak.

Its amazing all three have had their career games this year lol.

Darling probably shouldve playing more starting a month and Hak can sit and play 6-9 mins.

Couldn't agree more

i noted that in his HS highlights...i received the standard "i dont care what it looks like, as long as it goes in"--yeah, that goes without saying. my concern, however, was the low release, which makes it hard to get off against college defenders. it wont go in if you cant get it off

If you can shoot you can shoot. Poor shooters don't drop 30, 40, and 50 points in games.

Will be interesting to see how Nate develops over the next few years. He's a very good spot-up shooter now, hopefully he can add a lot more to his game.

I guess I missed the part where someone said he was a poor shooter

So a player has a career night and we proceed to send him back to the bench. Brilliant. 01-wingedeagle

Yes, he should throw out his entire game plan on short notice because a guy who doesn't play defense finally hit some shots agains a horrible team.

His defense is getting better. He is moving a lot better and as the season has progressed so has his playing time. Coaches are always on him about shooting. He made one attempt against UTEP and passed up some open looks. Maybe it's a confidence thing? Nates playing time is not why we lost to UTEP. Smdh.

We blew it because UTEP made good defensive adjustments, starting hitting shots and we didn't respond.

Our experienced senior guards had a hard time with the tight defense...so I can only imagine how a freshman would have responded.
