We lack quickness, other than Marcus, as well as size underneath. Not a good combination.

RE: UL game thread
Wes has signed 7 new players for next season. We obviously need an influx of talent. The major recruiting sites don't report our recruiting so I don't know if any are considered top talent, but I hope at least a couple are. I feel like Deondre will be a good player the next 2 years and Oliver and Andre have talent if they work hard in the off-season on their games. I will be more conservative in my predictions for next season.

Just a quick scan of the record book. Since they started listing individual game scores, it appears that we were held to 35 points by Texas A&M in the 06-07 season.

RE: UL game thread
How bad were we? Well, they shot 67% overall and 57% from the arc during the first half. (That is called "scoring at will.") They are plus-10 on the boards - IN ONE HALF! We had TWO whole assists in the entire first half.

I realize that some nights you are just cold shooting. But rebounding and defense don't get "cold."

Not pretty. Thought we could survive without a try point guard. Thought Marcus could handle it. He is a very good player, but he can't do everything. He can't pass it to himself.

With regard to their shooting percentage. Obviously, we are not a particular good defensive team. Still, some nights teams are just unconscious and everything they throw-up seems to go in. ULL is doing that tonight, but some of it is likely on us.

Bye Oliver. 2 quick fouls to get to 4, 30 seconds into the half. Now we have nothing inside.

Right now our tallest player on the floor is 6-5.

Who invented the Sieve defensive system? We run it pretty well.

Since the same thing happened last time we played, it makes one suspect that they are not just red hot two times in a row.

I guess that would be quite a coincidence.

11 fouls already in 2nd half. Systemic failure it appears to me

Never thought we had a chance to win this one. I was hoping we could beat Monroe. I really question if we can beat them without Lis. The hole he leaves in the middle is huge.

Black can't stay out of foul trouble, and with Lis unavailable, that makes Jackson our "center."

Well, we didn't quit. 88-82, at least, makes it look like it was a game. Only positive, to me, is that maybe we go into Monroe feeling a little bit better about ourselves than[/align] if we lost by 25.

They are men and not mice but it's still a loss and if they don't get it together there will be more and soon.

I have no illusions that the last 4 minutes means much. ULL relaxed (maybe be put in back-ups, but I'm not sure of that) and it is much easier to hit shots when it doesn't mean anything. Still it does suggest we don't give up, and hopefully coach can use it as a positive before the Monroe game.

I liked our press at the end of the game. Probably needed to do it before the half ended to try to get it down to 10 points

Not a bad suggestion, but we do lack depth and can't afford to get too many guys in early foul trouble.
