I still think this is TJ's award to lose at this point.

He's been the most consistent all year long and has garnered national recognition.

Cacock and his "star of the night" on SportsCenter may have something to say about that.

I understand what you are saying but the fact is scoring is by far the biggest denominator picking players for poy. Just look at the pow and rookie of the week awards for the season. How many have been picked that were not the high scorers
Right or wrong that is the way it historically is.

Plus Player-of-the-Week awards has a bearing too. Who takes home those awards over the final 3 weeks will be pretty crucial.

RE: POY
POY will be decided in the last 3 weeks. Still too early to tell unlike some past seasons.

RE: POY
T.J. Williams is averaging over 20 points and 5 assists (in all games) which doesn't happen often. The bad news for him is his assist/turnover ratio is ninth out of ten players with enough assists to be listed, and he's not on one of the best teams. The bad news for UNCW's players is deciding who the best player on the team is. Does this open the door for Daniel Dixon? He shoots the ball well, but his assist/turnover ratio is just over 1 (worse than Williams, but Dixon doesn't have assists to be listed). Williams and Dixon average 4.7 rebounds each. Joe Chealey shoots three-pointers and free throws well, but makes only .431 of his two-pointers. He has good assist/turnover ratio, albeit with fewer assists than Williams. He averages only 3.1 rebounds, which even by the standards of a guard isn't much. Towson is in the Top 100 of the RPI but doesn't have any of the Top 15 scorers.

RE: POY
I would think Omar Prewitt (47 points, 14 rebounds in 2 games this week) will win CAA POW this week. That would make him the leading candidate in my eyes.

Despite a rough start to CAA play for Prewitt, he's been absolutely killing it the last few weeks. He's climbed to 7th in scoring, 9th in rebounds, 11th in FG %, and 9th in assists in CAA-only games, and he'll only continue to move up the charts if keeps playing like this. W&M has a fairly easy remaining schedule for him to feast on too (@ JMU, @ Delaware, vs. Hofstra, vs. Towson).

Yup, hard to at least not have him in the conversation with these kinds of statistics. I didn't realize he's the leading scorer in the conference as of today. That's incredible considering he scored 44 total points last year. https://twitter.com/StephenGorchov/statu...2221988866
