Falcons will be in town next week. Anyone know if practices are open to the public?

I'm pretty sure they are not.

Some short guy in a Patriots hoodie asked me to videotape the Falcons' practices.

Hey that's not fair and I must protest that accusation. Bill Belichick is 5-11 so that doesn't make him short.

It's not just the practices that are closed: the road between the field and the tennis center will be closed all week.

I road by today and everything was still open. You could still go between the stadium and the Patterson center. Trucks pulled up and began unloading the Falcons' gear.

Er, ahh, what happened to the grass on our practice field ? Or is this a fake picture of turf ?

The practice field was resurfaced with new grass several weeks ago.

NRG is turf tho, isn't it ? I thought they got rid of the grass. If so why wouldn't the Falcons just practice in the stadium ? What am I missing here...........

Well, that's my route from my house to the SW Fwy! Then I guess I will cheer for the Patriots. ...oops never for the most depressing person in the NFL, oops, anywhere, Bill Belichek!!!!

You cut through campus to get to 59? Why don't you just take the loop road that is right next to the music building instead to get to Rice Boulevard (and then make a left at Rice and a right on Shepherd)? I assume that part will still be open.

The new practice field, the back of the Patterson Center and some other campus buildings (in the far background), are visible in this 41-second video of the Falcons warming up that ran on our local Fox TV affiliate this morning:

We could see the Falcons practicing, through the hedges, as we drove past after lunch today.
There are security people along the jogging path at roughly 100' intervals.
One at each of the flanking gates and two or three between.
Headsets connected to belt-pack radios.
Police vehicle parked at each gate, as well.
