Josh was on the left side of the U chart to most Tiger basketball fans. Not all, but most. And they voted with their feet, if you're in need of metrics.

Yes sir, good post, you have it figured out.

I agree. I was one that knew he wasn't going to do crap here in year 2. I'm extremely happy he's gone.

There's still time for your dreamboat to perform "as expected".

Your posts suck.

This ^

Not worried about it, just curious as to why the obsession?

I'm not sure talking about an ex coach not even a year removed qualifies as obsession?

Maybe if it was every other thread or post or whatever, you might be getting near a point.

What I have noticed though is that most of the Josh lovers consider any and all posts to be obsessing.

Not sure which camp you are in though, but no worries. You just may be overthinking things right now.

People still post about Calipari and that was nearly a decade ago.

I was on the fire him side. The night he took the GT job was a good night for me. I felt that he underachieved here. I knew we could do better than him and felt that his hire was rushed (although like most people I looked at everything when he got hired and at the time liked it, now I know different)

Very true and good point. Didn't think of it like that.

I don't see it as an obsession at all. He coached the Tigers for seven years and moved on. It's totally natural to be curious about how he's doing. Same goes for former players. I routinely google names of guys who wore the uniform. No big deal.

Length of time aside, I really don't get why so many people care about Calipari. He left for the absolute best job there is for a basketball HC.

Pastner's situation was toxic and divisive.

That was a really bad chapter. After threatening legal action and and insult by his attorney, Austin played what, 1 game at VA before being suspended then kicked off the team? Heard he doesn't want to play basketball anymore. Reminds me of the NFL seminar for rookies....choices, decisions, consequences.

Coach K could not have kept him at Memphis after teammate betrayal-hard for anyone to deal with.

Yep.

The battle of character in that one was not close.

It was unfortunate seeing such impatience and nastiness.

Maybe Memphis plays GT in the NIT...would pull for Memphis to win by 50. Or will one or both schools make the NCAA? Starts today, must beat ECU.

He could turn into John Wooden. It doesn't change the fact that it was NOT working HERE. I don't really care what he does at GT.

We will always take notice b/c he's our former coach. Nothing weird about it.

You can act cool about it but the fact remains he was constantly belittled (me included) on this forum for 3-4 years and gets fired (basically what happened due to GT assuming most of his contract) and takes a depleted roster, picked last in his conference and has 3 Top 15 wins before February.

THAT'S WEIRD!!!

Think how fun this discussion would be if we'd paid $10 million to buy him out.
