Would I like to see more of a socialist economic system? Yeah, I really would. Schools, health care, public transportation... these are *investments* in your people, who are an asset, not a liability. The Democrats seem to get that (although they often prefer to invest in people who happen to not look like me). But I can't endure 4 more years of having a social justice-obsessed administration just because I agree with some of their ideas about economics. I mean, a bunch of lefties got exposed trying to start a campaign to "normalize and destigmatize abortion." I just can't trust people like that. Legalize abortion? Fine. Not our greatest moment, perhaps, but probably unavoidable. Destigmatize it? No, no, no, a thousand times no, and there ain't enough gold in California or oil in Texas to change my mind on that.
Coupla things Andre:
1) Even if abortion becomes illegal on the national level, states can still vote to approve it (remember STATE's RIGHTS?)...so states such as California, Massachusetts and Vermont will legalize it anyway. By the way, abortion rates are waaaay down (Donald, why not use a "correct" statement like this sometime?) and more folks had abortions per capita when it was supposedly "illegal".
....and ya know, I get sick of righties using the term PRO-ABORTION. My wife and I are ANTI-ABORTION, but believe a woman has the right to choose. We would never have an abortion (don't have to worry about that anymore, any way ), but do not believe we have a right to tell someone else what to do.
2) switchin' gears, my friends, here are a few updates on the Orange One supposedly living up to his promises:
a) THE WALL---only 34% of 'muricans favor building it (and they must all be on here!), and we all knew 'murica was GONNA PAY FOR THE WALL, not Mexico.
b) TORTURE---Mattis and Pompeo (along with George Warshington) are against it..so it's all just his usual bluster.
c) TRADE---He can kill the TPP and other deals he feels are "bad", but the so called Great Negotiator knows there is no guarantee he will have willing partners to renegotiate with.
d) OIL PIPELINE---I suppose oil pipe will be made from US Steel when Trump ties and Trump Hotel Linens are no longer manufactured in China. (Whatta hypocrite)
You're very focused on specifics, even minutiae. I just don't vote that way, at least not when one side is so wrong in its philosophy.
I mentioned the way the Democrats reacted to the Planned Parenthood videos. That was really revealing. A proper response would have included a pledge to end profiteering in fetal tissues, if it in fact had been happening, and would not have been so hostile towards the people who made the videos.
There's something really mentally sick in the people that lead the Democrat party right now. Their views on abortion are just the canary in the coal mine. Look at Sally Boynton Brown, the state party chair who said her job was to "tell other white people to shut up." Look at Podesta, a guy who has dinner with weird Serbian artists who smear menstrual fluid on canvas. These are people who are just fundamentally at odds with reality and decency.
A) The wall is just plain good sense. Borders aren't suggestions. I mean, even a Hyundai dealership has a damned fence around it.
B) Trump's comments on torture are asinine and won't amount to anything. That said, it's refreshing to have a guy in office who quite conspicuously does not care about people who aren't citizens.
C) Our economy can turn inward a bit. We're a consumer society; there's no reason we can't be a producer society, too. We have every ability to build that sort of hybrid economy.
D) You're just trying to score political points with that stuff. Everyone follows the law to their own advantage; doesn't necessarily mean we think it's 100% rational. That's not hypocritical, it's business vs. politics.
The extent to which our economy and our labor force have become internationalized is an irrational distortion, a result of misguided monetary policies, white guilt, and God only knows what else. We all live in this reality. We all buy crap from China, hire Guatemalan laborers, etc. Doesn't preclude us from aspiring to improve the system.
You mention "fringe" Democrats that disgust you (from unsubstantiated stories you probably read on Breitbart), andre...what about "fringe" Republicans who belong to the KKK, or alt-righters (who Drumpf just doesn't eat with, he has them on his cabinet) with White Supremacist ties. You can find fringe folks with ties to all political movements.
...and why do you continue to say Drumpf's hypocrisy is just "business", HE IS CONSIDERING PASSING LAWS AGAINST COMPANIES WHO DON"T BUY AMERICAN, BUT HIS AZZ DOESN"'T. Those aren't points, just the facts m'aam.
I'm guessing Our Fuhrer will not make it the full four years (especially when the REAL story of his Russian connections are released), and while Pence is a phoney, I don't think he is INSANE...
I'll let you have the Bird droppings for a while, I'm gonna stick with 'cruitin' , so at least I can have a little fun while our Emperor plays the fiddle and watches 'Murica burn...
