Clark
I've come to believe he's the "glue" guy on this team. He's versatile and rock steady down low. Mick said on the radio post-game show that Gary had not practiced this week and he wasn't sure he'd be able to play. When he said "ankle" I kind of cringed while driving home from Clifton, remembering his past injury. Of course there was no evidence of that the way he played.

But I do wonder if he might be held out against USF to get healed. It's a long season still and it seems USF is certainly beatable, even if UC relies more heavily on their fast improving reserves Sunday.

Gary quietly had 13 points/11 rebounds/3 assists last night. Many pine to see a huge offensive performance out of him (and occasionally we do), but frankly I love his role as the lunch pail guy on this team. He is averaging 10 points/7.5 boards a game this year and frankly I have comfort in the fact we are going to get that production out of him on a consistent basis.

Gary is absolutely the glue. Those 11 rebounds were huge and a lot of them were improbable where he rebounded out of his zone. Huge for stopping runs and keeping momentum. Can't believe he was nursing an injury because he was amazing last night.

And when the hot shooter was matched up on him with some court space, he backed him down and made him try to play defense. Gary Clark is really good at basketball.

There's just so many good players on the team it's hard to feature Gary. On recent teams with fewer options he'd probably be a 15/8 guy. Don't forget he's an outstanding ball handler and passer for a post player. Winner.

Gary has great bball IQ. In fact as a team the bball IQ is as good as any under Mick.

Clark is probably my favorite player on the team. Very unselfish, and does whatever he needs to do for a win. In fact, he may be too unselfish.

RE: Clark
Agree on all counts. He's more than the stats can show. He's such a cerebral player seeing the floor, keeping his emotions in check. He's becoming a great interior passer and his improvement with posting up and dribble driving to the basket has vastly improved since last year. Remember the stand in place dribble with his butt pushing back on the defender? Now, he's turning into the defender more and driving toward the basket. Somebody has been working with him plus I believe I've heard/read he is a gym rat. Love the guy - a true lunch pail Bearcat.

Not sure if you heard the post game, but Clark almost did not play last night. He got hurt in practice, and Cronin was planning on holding him out. He's a gamer, but i would not look for a lot of minutes from him Sunday.

Ankle injury per Mick.. sure didn't seem to be hobbled at all by it.. I did at one point on the coverage late in the second half see him with a little wince in the face, but I thought it was him thinking about a missed opportunity.. but very well could have been the 1 time in the game he showed he was playing hurt..

I know he's the most developed player in all phases of the game i've seen in a heck of a long time. Saw Oscar's comments around half time about what us needed to do. Get the ball to number 11.

Gary Clark is soooo good, and he's still no where near as good as he should be

When Gary has the ball, good things happen.

He is tremendous in the post, getting really good at the face up drive and then spin move, great on the backboards and defensively.

His awareness in the post is so much better than Washington's and never forces anything. Has he taken a bad shot his entire career at UC?

In the interview with Oscar during the 1st half when UC was down 5 or so Seth Greenberg asked him what UC needs to do and Oscar says, "get 11 the ball." Nailed it.

Blueitt ran out of gas at end from having to guard Clark. Glad we stuck with game plan and continued to go inside
