RE: Kent State vs. Central Michigan
IMO, Thomas would not be close to a remedy for this team. This team is physically good enough, in fact it is as athletically talented as we have had in years. I see the problem as being one of having no upper class player or players with that "it" factor. I am sure that there must be books written on this winning trait found in certain players of all sports. After being at the game, and then watching the replay, it becomes so obvious that all turnovers are not created equally. When your best player commits a turnover, in the middle of the game, that counts as one TO. But when he is only a post player and he is dribbling up the length of the court, a la point guard, and then attempts to dribble through a double team in the lane, during the last minutes of the game, and loses it, that is not just a turnover. Our other senior, I believe, had 4 TO's, several at very crucial times. Winning teams have to have a player or two, who will rise above the game situation. Even with our talented team, I do not see the riser. We are losing the close games.

The dribbling by the senior is a problem..... His pocket has been picked on a regular basis. Not good.

I do agree that Kellon Thomas wouldn't make much difference on this team. His offensive repertoire was limited.
A Kent State team that has lost 3 MAC home games before February 1st has a variety of problems. GFlash I don't see top to bottom athleticism and I think the in game problems may be further up the bench then the seniors.

What Kellen would do ... is not defer ... hewould take or go get the ball out of JHs hands. THAT IS WHAT THIS TEAM IS MISSING .... A take-charge guy.

Not a take-over guy ...

Agree the overall size and athleticism is on par with any roster in the MAC .. it falls short at PG from the shoulders up ...

Hinting that 'further up the bench' is a problem just does not hold water. Team gets and more often than not makes quality shots on inbounds plays and timeouts ... which are directed from 'further up the bench' ...

It's when the players are in the rhythm of the game when stuff starts to splinter ... Walker is trying to be that 'It' player ... but right now, as many point out ... there is not a senior to show him how to do it ...

Growing pains ...

Many years of growing pains. I make no bones. Senderoff ain't Dambrot and he ain't taking this program to consistent winning. But hey...the inbounds plays look good.

He's not Todd Kowalczk, or Cooper, or Murphy, or Montgomery, or Hawkins, or ... some of the others who have come and gone in the league as well, either.

He certainly does a lot I don't agree with ... but this team is two years removed from winning the MAC .. and one year removed from holding down first place at mid-season before injuries hit ... IN A ONE-BID LEAGUE

He's missed on PGs ... we'll see how that plays out in the future ... but recruiting has been otherwise solid to good. ...

No runs in Cleveland as well ...

Still, program is on solid ground. Let's watch it grow.

Let us hope this is a year we can make a run in Cleveland - I am glad we have J Hall but we won't have him next year and I see no heir apparent so that and Edwin is lot to replace. Looked at what some MAC schools have returning after Buffalo gave the Zips a scar at home - UB is loaded with fresh and sophs -if they don't lose any players they are going to be tough and we know they give us fits.
