Shaping up to be a very good news day for Blazers football.

I know some researchers at UAB were building a prototype football helmet designed to greatly reduce concussions. I wonder if that's it. If so, that could create major licensing $$$ to UAB.

It is concerning helmet design from what I can tell.

Hopefully if they are able to scale up production of these helmets, the work is done in Birmingham with UAB getting a royalty fee.

An article from Jon Soloman today at CBS Sports says UAB and VICIS entered into a royalty agreement where a portion of each helmet sale goes to UAB for further concussion related research.
