So true there will be some new wrinkles in the whole game plan on both sides of the ball that will be new to our opponents.
Unless our new QB and WRs shoot out of a cannon, it'll be grind-out, ground control game at USC (with Bellamy back, will Lester throw in jet sweeps and misdirection?). Collect some first downs in each series, hopefully grab some points, and milk the clock a bit.

RE: 2017 games
NIU is a mystery for next year. They graduate a lot of starters and impact players. QB Drew Hare, QB Anthony Maddie, WR Kenny Golladay, WR Aregeros Turner, RB Joel Bouagnon, OL Levon Myers, OL Jush Ruka, DL Corey Thomas, DL Ladell Fleming, DL Austin Smaha, DL Mario Jones, LB Sean Folliard, LB Jamaal Payton and more.
They were down this year, but Anthony Maddie came in and helped therm win some games. But now Maddie is gone. I don't really know what to expect from the Huskies.

There are rumors on the NIU board that Maddie will get a medical redshirt and be eligible to play next year.

That would possibly be good for them. He is prone to injury and any lasting side effects would negate his biggest strength - his ability to make plays with his feet.
But I'm not sure he'll get another year. He started 5 games last year and played in a 6th. His eligibility might be tapped out.

RE: 2017 games
It will be a real test for Rod Carey next year @NIU. If he can make NIU improve to 7-5 or better, (given their tough OOC when not being old-school NIU, that'll be tough), they'll at least continue year in year out to be a hump to get over every year.

The non-conference opponents have already been announced as:
Sept. 2, at USC
Sept. 9, at Michigan State
Sept. 16, Idaho
Sept. 23, Wagner
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect at least a 9-win season given that schedule. I think we probably go something like 9-3, (7-1).
We return a strong OL and running game, which should help relieve some pressure for whoever starts at QB next season. IMO, it should come down to us and Toledo again in the West. Call me extremely disappointed if we lose one home game on that schedule.
Welcome back!

RE: 2017 games
Non-WMU related, but does Ohio bring back a lot of starters? If so, their Win column could spin like a slot machine.
Their OOC is Kansas, Purdue, Hampton and UMass. No WMU or NIU in the crossover again (they get Toledo, but at home).

They do graduate a few playmakers, but they should be poised for huge season. Easiest OOC schedule I've seen in a long time.

Lets not get carried away. WMU is going to have an inexperienced QB (even if it's Flacco given how little he has seen the field). Add to that a brand new receiving corps, and implementing new defensive schemes on the other side of the ball.
A lot of unknown's going into the new season. I won't say we can beat anyone out there.

As long as we keep winning, who knows, maybe that final regular season home series against Duluth will determine the NCHC regular season champ?
Excited to see how this season finishes out!
I definitely believe if we make it to the NCAA tourney, we will win our first tournament game in bronco history.

If you mean "can beat" by not by Technicality (like a legitimately placed 21pt underdog Could beat the team they face), but if they play their best -- they'll be right in the mix of what Should be a legitimately low point spread...
@USC? NO.
@MSU? Maybe. Depends how they are. And with the rest, depends on how WE are. We have Potential to be able to beat anyone besides these two, and possibly this one right here (but don't Count on it).
