2017 FB RECRUITING CLASS
Does anyone know if former OSU recruit Kareem Felder will be listed as a 2017 recruit or if he will even suit up for The Midnight Blue and Gold this Fall ?

I only know that as of September it was reported that he was enrolled at UT, and on his twitter he lists himself as a UT defensive back.
After last seasons complete bust of all the transfers from P5 schools, I am very skeptical that any such transfer is really gonna be that much better than the players already here. I hope he (or others) prove me wrong, but I will wait and see.

Felder is said to be a great prospect but I imagine he'll need a year or two (especially after the year off) to become a good college player. Last year's transfers were sort of a bust, but I don't think they were a bad thing. Moore from Miami (Fla) was a great addition, but got hurt. Powell played a similar role at UT as at Florida, by being a good special teams tackler and decent backup LB, which gives a little insight into the similarity in talent. The other guys, Montgomery and Myers didn't do much, but if there are a couple open scholarships come fall why not give them to mature 5th year guy who can come in from a place of high expectations with good experience and add some depth. The 5th year guys typically come in after signing day and are not taking scholarships from any recruiting class.
Plus, Felder can play for 4 years at UT if he sticks around. He's not really a transfer as he never went to school at OSU just signed there but had admission issues. He went from HS to UT.

Also Frye and Williams, neither of whom completed the season on the team. And I'm not sure Powell would have seen the field much at all if not for the injuries to Coleman and Olekanma, So, I rate that as 1 for 6, with Moore being the only real contributor, and he unfortunately got injured.
Like I said, I hope Felder becomes a great player for UT, just taking a wait and see approach.

Not seeing him on the 2017 roster, but if he's considered an incoming Freshman that might make sense.
