Northern has a beautiful facility. Where are the people? The team is good enough to deserve some support. Glad there was no home court tonight.

878 saw this one in a 9,000 seat building. Most games where I notice it seems they have under 2,000. What was their Administration thinking building their arena so large? No one on the MAC needs a building over 7,000 and it certainly isn't NIU. Same thing at EMU.

In hind sight you are probably correct but I remember a time when traveling to Toledo in their 9500 seat arena, it was difficult to even get a ticket. We always sat within 3 rows of the highest row. This was not a one year phenomenon. It was every year. I have been to Ohio games with 10,000 in attendance. And believe it or not, I have been in the MACC with 7500 in attendance. I remember going to Miami at near capacity. I do not know what happened, but decisions made in that era, did not have the benefit of seeing games with what appears to be 1000 in attendance.

Well rumor has it that Cleveland State may tear down the Wolstein Center - way too large for their needs - build some dorms and a smaller arena on the land!

This is a new era... the electronic age and all the gadgets that make the world go round today. The entertainment dollar is being stretched to the max in so many different ways.... that were unheard of years ago. And yes, I remember going to Toledo and also sitting near the top of the arena with 9500 people in attendance. Watching BB games from around the country on Direct TV... most of the mid major arenas are empty.03-pissed

I remember the huge UT crowds in the Bobby Nichols days too (UT still draws decent 4,500-5,000) and yes I have been to OHIO with 11K+ in the stands (one game per year, "Parents Day" or something like that). I think they average about 6,500 on the season...UNI has NEVER drawn well. It's been 800-1500 before the new arena and after it was opened. They never had a history of drawing well to justify the 9,000 seats.

CSU has a big problem. In fairness to them, that monstrosity opened in '91 four years before The Gund Arena was built and at a time when they had another tenant (MISL's "Cleveland Crunch" & Cleveland Force"). It was never meant to be a "just basketball" facility but when The Gund (now "The Q" opened it took almost all of their former events away). Always better to be at capacity or near capacity IMO...

Our absence is young with high talent so I hope this is a coaching moment for him.

I don't think it's a coincidence either. As I wrote earlier, I hope he's paying attention. Kid has great talent but needs to conform (under control, team ball, etc.)

Agreed. I'm not trying to put it on all him or throw him under the bus. He's our most naturally talented player on team. But he needs to tweak his game to fit into the context of team and have more assists. I merely hope a coach is helping him understand how he cant do it all and pointing out situations where heaving it up isn't the answer.

As Keith Jackson used to say ... "He's only a soph-o-mor!!!
