RE: RPI Watch
TCU and their 13-6 record and sterling non conference SOS of 110 are now ahead of MT in RPI.

If you are keeping score (and I mean who isn't right?) that's a loss of 20 spots in the rankings in 20 days over six games - all won of course.

Murray Mules and TSwho aren't helping, either. Mules lost to a bad SEMO team at home last night.

Welcome to WKU's BBall world (not this year). This was one of the main reasons we left the SBC--shrugs shoulders--. I am SURE it is very frustrating for MT.Current RPI-SBC-13;C-USA-24.WOW.

I guess it's just more shocking than anything. The history of most of the teams in current C-USA is immensely better than that of current Sun Belt. I actually believed this was going to be a better basketball league than a football league. Oh have I been wrong about that. The Sun Belt never did much of anything in basketball in its football era. But hell even when we got an at large bid in 2013 in our last year there we only had one team (two games) with a 300+ opponent and that was the two games against UL Monroe. In fact, Monroe was the only 300 team in the two years preceding and there were ZERO teams above 300 from 2007 to 2010.

This year we have eight in-conference 300+ RPI games. EIGHT!!

Well, it is a combination of a lot of things:

USM got hit with probation and fell off a cliff.
UTEP fell off a cliff.
WKU hasn't been up to par.
ODU hasn't been up to par.
UAB hasn't been up to par.
Charlotte hasn't been up to par.

FAU, FIU, UTSA, UNT (fire Benford) need to demand better of their basketball programs.

This will sound like boasting but it's not. Marshall is about the only positive change in basketball in the last 3-4 years, maybe Rice, too if they keep building on what they have. Of course that depends on UAB, MT, and LaTech holding on to their normal winning ways. You guys have been status quo (good), we've become consistently better, and everyone else seems to have lost a step or 12.

WKU and USM should be back within a season or two. ODU and Charlotte as well. UTEP is like Marshall football, wtf? If we can get UAB, MT, LATech, Marshall, Charlotte, USM, WKU, ODU, and Rice or UTEP in the top 150-175 at worst we should be fine. That seems like a lot to do but I think most of them know how to get there. We gotta get there BEFORE we start playing each other, though. It's the only way to keep any RPI we've earned pre-conference play.

It's not in my world. Sorry for your RPI but any time the Mules lose it's a good thing. If they lost every game the rest of the season all it would do is make my season not quite so bad.

They've certainly been doing that (losing) a lot this year. Yet gave us all we could handle.

Criers? Lmao. Get out of here. You would do better using your time to figure out how to get more than 3000 fans to come watch your team play football.

Hell, I'm just 'Giddy' that for the first time in the last seven games that our RPI didn't fall after playing a game.

But none of this will matter if we lose one. And UTEP is now capable of doing just that. Floyd has those boys rolling now 4 out of the last 5 to include thumping Marshall on the road.

case in point

phrase of point

1.
an instance or example that illustrates what is being discussed.
"the “green revolution” in agriculture is a good case in point"

How much does the Michigan State win help us?

I mean it's moot if we drop a couple of games, but had we got hammered by Michigan State last year we'd be getting even less respect, we'd just be that good team in that bad conference.

Could last year's win, provided we take care of business, help us in seeding at all, even if it's by a spot or two?

No. And if you don't win the cusa tourney, you are not going dancing. A cusa champ is gonna be a 15 seed.

Snap back to reality.

Seriously, why does that town not support the basketball team better? Such a good team, and seems like less than 1500 in the stands

You made a good point until that last sentence which then just undermined your whole post. Go buy a clue.
