Nice Game Knights
Really well played and planned game, Knights.

Taco has developed into the real deal and Dawkins is obviously a very good coach.

Well played game this afternoon, Knights. Looks like you guys will be a force in this conference in the coming years.....as long as that tall guy is plugging up the middle for sure.

Congrats on the well played game.

Teams in this conference are probably going to be searching hard for shooters year in and year out as long as Taco is there

Thanks OT. Difficult to lose such a closely contested game, but we're just happy to be in this position with a new coach and new regime.

Next year is when the fireworks begin. Hope y'all are ready! 04-cheers

I don't know if we will be ready or not, but that group that UCF had on the floor and the coach on the bench could very well be the beginning of another true basketball power in this conference. If Dawkins takes advantage of the results of this team to sign legitimate AAC mid and upper level recruits; you guys should have a very high ceiling!! Just protect your coach from UConn knocking on the door because they need one....and who ever thought that would be said (even in jest) when the last version of the BE was formed.

We should be ready next year at least personel wise. We will have 2 7 footers ourselves next year. Teams should be able to pound us on the boards so bad next season

Agreed...as most inside the program predicted that would happen...considering what Tacko had gone thru the previous years:

-Only 3 years of organized basketball prior to arriving at UCF.

-Tacko missed out on all the extra summer practices prior to his first season as UCF got those extra practices since it was the summer of their international trip to the Bahamas.

-Tacko missed out on all the Fall Camp practices as ONE person at the NCAA Clearinghouse was delaying his approval.

Only after national media pressure came down on the NCAA on this "top" student (accepted as a true Freshmen in UCF's Engineering Program), the NCAA Clearinghouse official finally cleared Tacko just 1 day prior to UCF's first game of the season (road game at Davidson....as Tacko had to be called out of class just to make the flight).

Missing out on all of those months of practice with the team hurt his development, training, conditioning last year...but even by Jan/Feb of last season...all saw what Tacko could do on occasion, and figured with a complete off-season of strength/conditioning, plus workouts with the team...and entire Fall Camp of practice...most predicted Tacko would see a major jump in improvement this year.

He still has a lot to learn as in almost every game, Tacko sees something for the very first time...so he is going thru the cycle of success/failure.

Coach Dawkins says all the time that the team has to do a much better job at getting him the ball at low block...as there have been multiple 10-15 min stretches of play this year where Tacko is lucky to get a touch...which makes no sense, considering if he shoots from the low block, 80% of the time the ball is going in.

UCF loses 3 of their 7 eligible players next year (starters Williams and Efianyi, plus Banyard), and with 4 transfer players redshirting this season (including Dawkin's son from Michigan), plus shooting guard Chance McSpadden out all year with torn ACL), it will be a new looking team again next year, but at least Dawkins should have more eligible scholarship players to choose from off the bench next season.

UCF just hit the meat of their schedule...as the Memphis game was the first of 8 brutal games that UCF might be lucky to win 3 or 4 of them:

@ Memphis
SMU
@ Tulsa
@ Houston
MEMPHIS
@ Cincinnati
UCONN
TULSA
