The start of the Coach Perry era at ECU: ECU vs UConn
Perry was 62-75 at Georgia State (2003-2007). He had a great first season, a subpar second second and then once they moved from A Sun to CAA his teams bottomed out.
Wouldn't want him as a long term fix but if he can get these same players to look better than they did under Lebo that'll be more fire under Lebo's seat.

If Perry does too well...it's a rock and hard place for ECU. Not that there's a chance that Perry could get the job. Or could it get it by beating a team with a losing record.
Cheers!

I think if he ends up with a .500 record that's enough to show that coaching is the issue but not good enough to just hand Perry the job. With that said if he SOMEHOW does well enough where we are discussing keeping him on he's been here a decade this year and can transition more smoothly than an outside hire.

No matter what he does Lebo should be fired, and being that he's been here a decade as an assistant he's as big a part of the problem as Lebo is.

Lack of perspective. Lebo has done GREAT for that program. He'll have a statute outside of Minges when all said and done.

URGH SSDC. How the hell are we still not running an up tempo offense?!?!!? Our players are tailor made for up tempo and yet we play half court and throw up crap shots.

ECU really needs to start marketing the you-know-what out of that program.
They have the most basketball-centric color scheme in the conference and a fanbase that will rock the place if they have something to cheer about.
They should get some cool new swag and start appealing to some high end talent.

UConn has 6 scholarship players available and we are still losing. Let's have the Kinston Hs coach next game! Maybe he'll do something to change it.

I would think so. Probably won't come until he retires in 10-15 years though.

Memphis fired Larry Finch who with 220 wins was the schools winningest coach until Calipari came along

....and Larry was a genuine local hero who is still the 3rd leading all-time scorer in a pretty storied program's history At 22.3 points per game average for his career; the only reason he isn't the all time scoring leader is because he played at a time when freshmen were ineligible for varsity ball. Larry had no detractors regarding his personality, his character, his love for the university, or his complete and total love for our city. His winning % was over 62%, but not good enough to keep his job
That makes letting Lebo go pretty easy in my opinion if the university and fans really want to let him go. Good luck with the decision by the university, it's never an easy one when the coach is well liked.

Tulsa fired Wojcik who is the winningest coach in TU history simply because he couldn't get over the NCAA hump (Memphis) and because attendance dwindled under his style of play. He won 140 games and had a .600 win percentage. But only had a CBI title and two mediocre NIT outings to show for it.
