A-Sun/BSC
With the agreement between the A-Sun and BSC should we expect to see some of their teams on our future schedules? I would think playing some of their best basketball schools would give us some winnable games and quality OOC games to strengthen RPI. I'd love to get FGCU, UNF, SC Upstate on the schedule. After all, aren't we supposed to be going steady with the A-Sun or something like that?

Ugh I hate the agreement. It is more beneficial to them than us.

The best thing y'all could do is continue to improve and try to get the auto bid. If the opportunity presents itself to bolt to a better FCS conference or go Indy to the FBS then go.

How is it more beneficial to them? It seems pretty neutral and vanilla to me.

Because they get full members and we get associate members in just one sport. Seems pretty lopsided to me.

RE: A-Sun/BSC
Personally, I don't see why the Big South and A-Sun just don't go ahead and merge. That way everyone gets the best of both worlds. I know it'll probably will never happen, but just my 2 cents.

On another note, I've been wondering if LU and the Big South has a secret agreement. Where, if LU doesn't get an invite to a 1-A conference, they wait until the Big South has enough football members to keep the auto-bid before they pursue 1-A independence in order to keep their olympic sports in the Big South. Just a thought/speculation.

I agree that the BSC and A-Sun (or even Southern Conf. for that matter) should combine. But I completely understand why they don't. It would be foolish to give up your confefences auto NCAA bid. You would go from 2 bids to 1 bid, and with more teams that bid would be more difficult to get. Yes there would be more quality competition and great destinations. But, I don't see it happening unless one conference is fixin' to die out and the stronger conference absorbs the members.

I agree that they won't merge with another conference to lose the auto bid. BSC is trying to make sure if LU goes to FBS they don't lose the autobid. This is great for Liberty because with Chadwell gone you guys should run this conference.

We heard that after Stony Brook left. We heard that after Coastal Carolina left. We are hearing it again. Forgive me if I seem a little hesitant to feel warm and fuzzy inside. We find ways to lose, not ways to win.

Charleston Southern was running the conference even with Coastal there/playing them. They even beat Coastal last year. That was a HUGE blow to CSU. If y'all can't win it this year Gill has to go.
