One of my best friends is a Doctor in the Hattiesburg ER. He and his family are all fine as well, but said there were several places around town that got hit pretty hard with damage.

All good here. It was a nasty, nasty night, though.

It was really bad in south Hattiesburg. William Carey, a college in south Hattiesburg, suffered heavy damage and is closed down. 4 deaths so far. Prayers needed for those involved.

Anyone know how my boy Stinkfist came out of this. I miss him from the board. But some things are bigger than the internets. I just hope he's okay.

Thinking of all USM friends, and their Hattiesburg neighbors. Tornadoes are horrible. I was lucky in 2009 for our big one. Many folks aren't when those things come through.

My family is ok. I live a couple of miles from where the path was. Going to work thru my church starting Monday in the cleanup.

It missed my house by about a mile.
I first touched down extremely close to a historic site. The site of the last bare knuckles prize fight in the us

Storm came within a couple of football fields of my house. God was watching over my family! We got away with no damage. Thanks for asking!

Very appropriate, since the fight caused a spectacle befitting a tornado...

Wrote a term paper in college on the fight....lasted 75 rounds (although rounds ended in those days when someone fell down) in 100+ degree weather. "Funny" thing about bare knuckle boxing (and the boxers didn't flail at each other the whole time like in the movies, they clinched a lot and avoided each other a lot), you actually hit your opponent with more force using 10 0z gloves, but you usually broke every bone in your hand and fingers!

So gloves protect the HITTER much more than the HITTEE!04-cheers
