Sampson pulled the old "we are a few points away from being 16-3 instead of 13-6" today. This team has no wins to speak of, and this loss should make this man evaluate his life. Half of the Sampson family is on UH's payroll, his daughter is in charge of marketing or something, and this team after 3 years is no better off than it was when he got it.
Maybe I'm wrong and we are just banged up and we can bounce back, but i doubt it.
Good game, cheaters.
Yes, we have cheated in the past, sometimes blatantly, sometimes on the fine line of what you can do and you cannot do....
We do try though to be competitive....we just sometimes get caught.
I thought a line by the studio hosts after the game that was very true is that SMU may be down a game in the standings, but "I am not so sure that SMU is not the best team in league".
The bearcats are great, in fact, I think SMU and Cincy are both sweet 16 teams. My first reaction would be, that we are the two elite teams this year, with my cat friends having a slight upper hand with their 2 point win at home.
HOWEVER, I will not disrespect the fact that my Tulsa and UCF friends also have only one conference loss, so they have earned their spot in the conversation and belong there until it is settled on the court.
We shall see, my gut tells me Cincy and SMU are the two elites this year, both destined for at least the sweet sixteen....but Tulsa, UCF, and even, perhaps, Memphis could still make noise.
Will be fun.
