Toledo @ Kent State
Sounds like there are some exciting happenings surrounding the game between the Rockets (10-8, 3-2) and the Flashes (9-9, 1-4) at MAC Center. It will be a double header with the women playing first.

The UT men are coming off a win over rival Bowling Green. The Rockets are a different team on the road, where they have only won once this season, compared to at Savage Hall. So hopefully the home crowd and the game day experience will be an advantage for Kent State.

The Flashes will need to avoid letting another guard go off when they contend with Jonathan Williams. The 6'3 senior is making his case for MAC POY with a 21 point average. Another Rocket to watch is 6'9 senior Steve Taylor Jr. He leads UT in assists and rebounds.

This is one the good guys should be able to get. UT is solid, but they have been bad on the road and they employ a defensive scheme similar to Kent State. But make no mistake, the Rockets get this one and they remain in the thick of the race after 1/3 of the games have been played. As always, KSU will need to bring it.

Tough to make a prediction in this one. Will it be Journey's Don't Stop Believing or Tom Petty's Free Falling? You make the call.

Anybody know about TV for the Toledo game? My local newspaper says it is on SPCSPRT at 6:00, but I don't know what that is. The ESPN website says it is on ESPN3, but the ESPN3 site does not list the game. I thought we didn't have that capability yet?

Spectrum is now the Old Time Warner Sports Channel which you only get if you have Spectrum cable (Time Warner Cable)

Watching the game on ESPN3. A lot of energy for the start. Got to keep it up.

Peterson is really pressing & rushing his shots. But as shooters do, he should keep shooting, work himself out of it.

Walker's foot is sore, or at least that is what I was told by someone in the know. Rotations were better tonight, using true point guards helped. De la Rosa and Hall weren't on the floor as much together and it appeared players were given time to find their rhythm. I really like the freshman (Peterson, Pippen, and Walker...hard to say with Hurley yet) we have and hope we can keep them together for four years. Edwin played fantastic, as did Hall. Atmosphere was finally better...hopefully it keeps up for all home games.

There were not 6,300 people there...not even close. Maybe they are combining men's and women's attendance?

That's what they said on the post game show. I kind of agree with you since a couple parts of the upper bleachers were blocked off. Regardless it was an unexpected (by me) very nice crowd.

They gave tickets out to faculty/staff for this game like they were doing for the football games. It is something that I hope they continue to do. Give away the tickets now and help create the atmosphere that brings more people back later on.

RE: Toledo @ Kent State
Probably the best we've looked all year, maybe in a couple years. Start to finish they played a complete game. Big time props to the coaches for making the move to start Pippen along side Hall and stagger Hall and De La Rosa's time. Hall has so much more space to operate inside with Pippen. Props to De La Rosa too for not pouting about not starting and having one of his better games. His 5 blocks were huge and he played some really good defense on Taylor. Avery was good today too. He played pretty much mistake free basketball which is really all we need from the PG spot. And of course, Hall and Edwin were on fire.

I know we can't expect everyone to play as well as they did today but for confidence I think this will help going forward because we'll know what we're capable of when we really bring it.

Congrats to the coaching staff for making some positive changes. Defense was great, rotation was right on and a big improvement on turnovers. A fantastic game by Edwin and Jimmy Hall. Let's keep this going!!! And I liked Petersen and Pippen playing time minutes.
