Sean Folliard In All Star game?
Looks like Sean Folliard was in the "Tropical Bowl" this weekend. He may get a legit shot at playing pro football as well. How is NIU Athletics not all over these guys in All Star games. Missed opportunities that can help with recruiting. He won a defensive MVP award for the American team.

Haha. It's not the tropical bowl that matters obviously, but shouldn't our guys that get post season love, get some love from their own media? Just sayin.....Where's the attention to detail?

Any attention we can get for the players in their post-season all-star games the better.

I agree. With more games, they're certainly not as elite as they once were, but it still sends a signal that there are guys in the program ticketed for pro ball in some way, shape, or form. Recruits all have that dream, so it's important to show them that the program produces guys every year with that shot.

Plus, I grew up with the Blue-Grey Game on Christmas Day and it was usually the only way we'd get to see a guy from NIU after Thanksgiving, since it featured guys from schools not playing in bowl games. Used to look forward to seeing the NIU helmet with all of the other stickers all over it, as well as guys from other schools with the interlocked NI somewhere on their helmets. I have a soft spot for college all star games.

Loved watching Levon play yesterday. He struggled a little early, not moving his feet very well, though it didn't cost the team (he's very effective using his body). But, after the first series I saw (I only saw the second half), he dropped his butt a little and got a lot more effective in his pass pro kick. He looked really good in his run blocking, though his team was really trailing, so he rarely got to do that. He and his guard got a pancake on a double team which was great to watch with big #71 laying on top of that kid.

Plus, almost every guy on that team had an NIU sticker somewhere on their helmet. Levon was obviously a popular guy there.
