NIU/Ohio predictions
Ohio was dealt a big blow with losing Campbell for the season. That is still a very very talented basketball team that can win the MAC. I would imagine in DeKalb this will be a pick em type game, maybe Bobcats by a point? For NIU to win, I think this game has to stay in the 50s, I expect a good old fashioned defensive battle, Huskies win
Ohio 56
NIU 59

Now, MD---you know there's always a chance for NIU to stay in the 50s and it has nothing to do with defense, right?
It would be nice to have an enthusiastic crowd (different from big).
This is actually a pretty critical game---at home---riding a nice streak---and coming off a win where we really didn't play very well.

Maybe NIU needs a hype man or something for basketball games. Someone with a mic that can create some energy during breaks in action. Coach Gooden would probably do it if he's available. I don't know if it would help since 95% of the crowd is either over 60 years old or under 10...but hey, it's worth a shot.

"95% of the crowd is either over 60 years old or under 10"
The sad fact is that you are right.
We have lost 2 generations of fans and I doubt they will ever come back.

Some of those 60+ year olds have enough venom for all ages haha. I swear I think some of them are just shy of issuing death threats to the officials. We probably have lost a generation or two of Huskie fans, and I think there is a pretty big lag in outcomes of the team and support. NIU probably needs to win the MAC to really see the benefits of the success. If students can jump on board and create the excitement, those twenty, thirty, and forty somethings should follow though. I was really disappointed in the student turnout Tuesday vs Miami.

Did the game start yet? ESPN3 still says waiting to start.

Tell me why I'm supposed to like AA? Defense? Because it's getting harder and harder. Two unforced TO so far

Armstead really has forgotten how to dribble, I don't get it.

Ok. I was hard on German at the start of the season. I was wrong. Dude is lightning AND knows how to finish. He works on his passing and he will be the face of this team very soon

Biggest reason Ohio is going to win this game, ball movement. At some point NIU has to get out of the stone ages.

Really disappointing game, we just don't have the offense to go toe to toe with the best teams in this league

These games don't matter. Just need to play well enough and beat who you need to beat to get in the MAC tourney and get hot. Only one team from the MAC is dancing, so you only need to play exceptional for a few games at the end.

They matter immensely. Teams playing their way into Cleveland have very very very little chance to win the tourney. Seeding is huge. Plus this game really shows that we do not have the offense to compete in a tournament. Huskies exposed big time today.

Well, then I guess they aren't going to the NCAA tourney. On to the next season....
(By the way, I think they can win the MAC tourney)
