Won't get out of committee. Ole Miss does wield considerable political power in the state, but contrary to common belief, Ole Miss does not dominate the Legislature in terms of alums. As of 2015, State and USM both had more grads on High Street.

How the hell would this be enforced? Like the NCAA is going to listen to some dumb law in a state they don't care about.

I'm sure this is one of the more pressing problems facing the State of Mississippi. Good work, Representative Rebel.

Wow. If I was part of the NCAA decision making committee, I'd be okay with that. Then 2 years later, when the punishment came down, I'd just double the fine the State tries to get from the NCAA and make that part of the punishment.

Jesus alive, that's just stupid. Has the state legislature really run out of real problems to address? You know, there are probably counties in the Delta where most people have never seen a damned dentist, but these knuckleheads are more concerned about Ole Miss football. To quote the statesman-of-the-hour, "SAD."
