It seems that we've always had ten or twelve regulars on this board. Now I don't see but maybe half that many, and after that great year our Trojans had last year. I must not be the only one who thinks we screwed up in hiring Coach Beard's replacement. There has to be a reason why our posters are down this season.

haven't posted in a long long time. still love the program since it is my alma mater and i love the wes hire. cant expect nacaa tournament every year just yet. give him time. just dont see the point in posting much on here. still read it from time to time though. go trojans!!

Thanks for posting. I was all for hiring Wes, and we'll know in 3 or 4 years whether it was the "right" hire. I certainly don't expect to go to the NCAA tournament every year. Winning around 20 games a year, might be a realistic goal, with schools regularly playing more than 30 games every year. I wouldn't count us out of getting there this year before all is said and done.

Well, one poster left and I assume is now posting on the Longhorns message board. Probably lost another poster (family or friends) of some of the other players we lost last year.
Speaking of Isom, he has played in 2 games and played 5 minutes. He missed his only shot, a 3.
texas is 7-11 and 1-5.

I wonder if he has had second thoughts.

I think college basketball in general is in trouble.

Regular season has little significance, coaches reinforce it when they have a bad non-conference season or start bad in league play talking about the conference tournament is the only thing that matters anyway.

Most of the schools in Division I know they are out of the at-large hunt around Christmas, and the elites know they just need to get up over .500 to make it.

The year UALR beat Notre Dame, there were 18 bowl games, only four were played before Christmas so bowls were less of a distraction with most compressed in that week between Christmas and New Year's Day. Now it's hard to get anyone to even notice you have a game going on until after January 1.

Colleges seem to take longer breaks over Christmas so more games without students on campus.

I suspect he has had second thoughts. Yes, he could have been a big help here, but perhaps he thought he was better than he was. I've always heard people say "I'd rather be a big fish in a little pond, than be a little fish in a big pond." Some would rather sit on the bench in the big's than be a starter at a lower level.
