It will be interesting to see how we match up against him.

FORMER STANFORD COACH JOHNNY DAWKINS was hired at UCF, and immediately Dawkins and his staff hatched a plan to help Fall develop during the offseason. In the NBA, Dawkins had played with 7-foot-7 Manute Bol and 7-foot-6 Shawn Bradley and played against Shaquille O'Neal, so he had some familiarity with people Fall's size.

Conditioning came first. Alex Parr, UCF's strength-and-conditioning director, designed a program for Fall to get in better shape so he could stay on the court for longer periods of time. They redistributed his weight through workouts, taught him to stay out of foul trouble and worked on his back-to-the-basket game.

He averaged 7 and 6 last year and is going for 13 and 10 in 26 mpg. Hasn't fouled out this years.

So far this season we've had problems with teams that have size...especially with Ry out. He gave us our only big body. I think we are going to have trouble Sunday

We have issues with athletic bigs...fall is not that. He will not kill us on the offensive glass but will we be able to score at the goal

With this guy on the court, lots of concern for RBs, offensive & defensive. With my attention on rebounding the last few games, I see a lack of commitment among our guys to properly position & fight for rebounds - besides being undersized (which has become an excuse IMO).

It would be interesting to make Dedric the 5 and have him play on the perimeter and see if Fall would chase him out there.

If not, Dedric can shoot at will and if they rotate others of their assignments, Dedric is good enough to recognize and pass. Take a page out of the NBA when teams go small to counter bigs who are slow afoot.

Lots of sagging and doubling on defense.

Maybe...there are advantages to going big & going small - execution determines success for either approach. Going small puts rebounding success, as limited as it already is, at bigger risk (& inside D too). I'm confident our coach understands our players & how best to use the tools he has to be successful but execution is always the key - and that's on the players on the floor.

UCF may play zone against us regardless, but would be an easy decision if we tried to make Fall chase Dedric on the perimeter.

I seem to recall ucf being a 2-3 zone team with taco in the game

Tacko played 25 minutes against UConn. He had one shot, a miss and 3 rebounds. Need to look at the tape of that one. He was also 0-6 vs. ECU.

Fall will not come out to guard Dedric. I think UCF will take their chances on DL beating them with 3s.

Tubby has said several times one of biggest problems with rebounding is lack of effort and I agree. I can't remember a big jumping up and snatching a rebound with both hands and protecting the ball with both elbows out, squeezing the ball, all the while looking for outlet pass (PG should be in same place most every time so rebounder knows where he is at and can make immediate pass to start the break).

John Wooden Rebounding 101.

Both of those teams have talented bigs with more size than we have right now. It will be an interesting matchup. Glad Tubby is there to solve it. This is one game where coaching will be a game changer

CBS thought it would be a good idea for us to play during the NFC Championship?

That dude is huge. He could eat us for lunch. If he's hungry. All depends on how much he wants to eat.

He cant move worth a darn...We will have open shots at the FT Line or Open 3's all day long. If Taco comes out to challenge at the FT Line thats buckets all day long for Dedric or Rivers at the goal.
