Two games interest me tonight. Buffalo and Kent will be a big one. The loser could be in some trouble I also want to see if WMU can maintain its recent surge and be competitive at emu

Bobcats are playing 14-3 (4-0) Akron and 11-6 (3-1) Northern Illinois on the road this week.

With Antonio Campbell questionable, there's a real possibility the 'Cats will be sitting at .500 in the MAC following this week.

Looks like Akron will win their 26th? consecutive game at the JAR

EMU holds off a hot shooting WMU 86-80.

Ball State scores big again, downs Central Michigan 98-83.

Buffalo with a big 82-69 road victory at Kent State

I'll say this... The Chips are a fun team to watch (unless your team is playing them)... That first 10 minutes or so was ridiculous. Solid effort by the Cards to take the 18-0 run and not look back. Three in a row, which makes the two winnable losses a bit tougher to take.

That game was bigger for EMU than simply a home win.

WMU made 13 of 26 treys.

My thinking has always been when a team shots such a high percentage of treys that they almost always win the game.

If I had just seen 80 points on 13 of 26 behind the arc, I would have thought that EMU probably lost and it would be been: "one of those nights... they were hot behind the arc and nothing we could do."

IF WMU had made say 9 of 26, we would have blown them out.

I actually haven't seen NIU play yet. Are they a contender or pretender?

I would say they can be a contender, but are likely in the #4 to #5 range in the MAC. They don't shoot well enough from the outside still. Free throws and rebounding seem to have, well, rebounded, so that's good. At least for now.

NIU is not a top 4 team, they are much closer to bottom 4 than top 4. NIU has THE worst offense in the MAC and wont beat quality teams. NIU has played Kent, Miami twice, and BG. NIU's record right now is a product of schedule. NIU is a pretender right now

Akron 7/22 from the free throw line. This game shouldn't be close.

Ugly game. It's crazy how many foul calls Big Dog gets, yet doesn't commit any himself.

Shouldn't have been as close as it was, thanks to Akron's awful foul shooting. We were terrible offensively. Stopped giving the ball to Thompson and Steele, for some reason.

Looking forward to the return game in Ypsilanti.
