What did Riley tell McBride?
Whatever it was, he switched from us to UT. This article doesn't hold water.

Probably told him he wouldn't play next year at Memphis.

From the article, it didn't sound to me like Riley said anything to suggest that McBride should go to Tennessee. Riley told him the he didn't get along with the coaches at UT and that he felt at home in Memphis. No biggie. I think UT came after McBride late and dude decided that he wanted to play in the SEC.

Being on the team and playing a lot areteo different things. I really thought he'd be a great addition to the UofM. We'lol most likely sign a JC and Frosh QB in '17 class

RE: What did Riley tell McBride?
Maybe I'm just pulling a Jerry Fletcher but it seems as the Knox paper wanted to say McBride talked to Ferguson who had nothing but good things to say about the Tigers and McBride said that's not good enough; I'm going to sign with my beloved Vols and SEC.

I thought the same thing. Article really says nothing about Ferguson telling him to go to UT...

Ideally, Brady Davis and/or the other QB will get a lot of snaps in blowouts and be semi ready in 2018. That's going to be a huge year losing a lot of playmakers coming in.

I think we should always sign at least 1 QB with each class, who could potentially be a starter by his 2nd or 3rd year in the program ... We've been blessed the last 5 years of not having major injuries at the QB position, but I can remember when due to injuries we moved a WR to QB, and another year where we were down to the Coach's son who was a walk on playing QB ... Quality depth is always a great problem to have ...

I can completly understand a kid wanting to play in the SEC. The key word is play but you have to believe in yourself and want to compete so i don't think the thought of am i good enough should go through many kids minds

Dude wont ever start at UT. They have a redshirt freshman 5 star that will start next year and will for the next 3 years. I guess McBride wants to get into coaching since he will be standing on the sidelines and giving signals until his senior year.

Maybe they just pay better....
