I can't come up with the 60% so was wondering if you had access to some sort of stats.

No, just a pair of exam gloves.

Yeah. One can't just throw up stats like that without backing it up.

LOL, I decided I didn't want to get into the fray and took my post down, but you got me right back in it! 03-lmfao

Oops my bad

Oops my bad

What impressed me was the "by our count" followed by the stat. Reminds me of a poem:

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I'm schizophrenic,
and so am I.

I think we're hearing voices!

I have issues???? You guys have ran off (to our count) 60% of posters in past year. There are approx 60% less posts now-why do you think that is? Football is as good as ever, a new basketball coach and a probably the best incoming recruiting class in football in decades if not all time. Interest should be at all time high. Not here; it's like the FedExForum on game night vs Incarnate Word.

A forum such as this is for the exchange of facts, opinions and a spirited debate of the issues; that is not wanted here by a good number of posters as they only want posts that jive with their preconceived notions and positions without consideration of the facts.

I have become a whipping boy of a clique of about 10 posters who don't like me posting facts or strong opinions that don't fall in line with theirs. For instance:

I posted that we are paying over $3M a year to a coach who has won 1 NCAA tournament game in 9 years. I questioned whether he was the right choice to get fans back in the seats and 4 and 5 star recruits back in the fold. Several media members have said or written the almost exactly the same thing I said.

It pissed off some posters who think Tubby is the greatest coach ever and can do no wrong (what is so strange is during a bad game by the Tigers even these guys talk bad about Tubby). They jump me on every post I make and I give it back to them just as I get it and will continue to do so.

So "issues" are not mine. I can tolerate other opinions and statements of facts-you can't.

Where and how did you get that 60% number?

SWAG but it doesn't take rocket science.

I can't come up with the 60% so was wondering if you had access to some sort of stats.

Do you young folks know what a SWAG is? In a 5 hour span in prime time tonight we had posts in 4 normal threads. Go back a year and see what you get. Same thing on game days, mornings, late nights; down by more than half across the board pretty much. Not even real game threads anymore and very short ones at that.

Did notice the Nichols very NTR thread got a relatively huge amount of posts.

He got it from the same place he got the "I know more about basketball than 99% of the other posters" stat.

He pulled it out of his a$$.

There was a point to this thread at some point, correct? Something about Kessee specifically and bench use off-the-wall guards in general?

Seems hazy now.

Everything always reverts back to coaching whether past or present

Some still love Pastner

Some love whoever the current coach is regardless

Some see good and bad with Tubby

It is what it is

I'm so confused by this thread. I thought Bowen was to blame for ruining the program and running everyone off?? Now PL is telling us that it is actually Bluto?? Is that you, Tom?? 03-lmfao

I just don't get how it often devolves into nonsense. Discuss the team, the players, the coaches, whatever, just do it in good faith.

These threads get derailed a ton. And it's not the mods fault. It is functionally impossible to police threads that derail like this one in real time. It's on the posters (myself included) to make this place more readable.

I don't think the local 901 people get it. Memphis is a regional fanbase. Some of us live in far off venues. You think the average NYC resident gives a damn about the Tigers? I assure you they do not. This little corner of the interweb is a refuge for the Tigers' far flung fans to have a place to discuss something we are passionate about that our local friends don't care about.

It's important for that reason, I wish people would treat it as such.

To your point Bluto, it is odd, my thoughts on that:
- I like Pastner, but am thrilled he is gone. Best for both of us. True win / win. He was failing here, and the lessons learned make him a legit option to make GT good. We get a fresh start. Hard to see this as anything but good for all involved.
- Tubby is both good and bad, and it's fair to discuss both. Team looks well coached, recruiting looks brutal early in tenure.

We'll see.

Carry on all! And GO TIGERS GO!

The use of real names (even those not present here) is in direct violation of the AUP and compromises the ability to entertain rational discussion. I expect that you will edit this and the moderators will deal with you accordingly

Did the posters here run of the fans at the games last year as well...Think before you post.

Secondly people can handle criticism if it is not agenda driven...You clearly are biased, that along with being arrogant is why you get throttled.
