That scares me a little because your team could be that early game in the tournament. Very disappointed that they were not ready to play.

Let's think about this in a different business perspective. If the outside company has seen poor attendance and low ticket sales they are not going to have a big concession staff. If they see a game that has good ticket sales then they will hire more concession workers. I'm not saying it would be perfect or suffice all of the lines adequately, but should have more people working. Just like every business, they are watching their bottom dollar and making sure they are not losing money.

I am not defending them, just makes sense from a business stand point on why it has happened

Even at the games when attendance sucks, the lines at concession are ridiculous. In the main concourse, they typically back almost up to the windows. So, they are understaffed, regardless. And, the Grille on the other side isn't staffed any better.

1) Some folks are just thirsty and don't need to wait behind people wanting nachos ( & hot dogs). They look at the lines and go back to their seats or find a drinking fountain.

2) Bottled Water costs about 10 Cents and is then sold for $3-$5. If there is a more profitable item please tell me . Oh and it doesn't spoil! Profits will go through the roof.

Fell free to pass on....
Not sure anyone from NIU makes that call. Concessions is run by a 3rd party entity, I believe

Then the 3rd or 4th party are idiots.

You and I could bring in 20 cases and clear $1000 profit in 3 hours.

We brought a case of beer inside a duffel bag to the DePaul game in 1991. Went after class, got there right at tip off and went to the top of the bleachers. Fun times. 02-13-banana

04-bow Old Milwaukee or Olympia? 04-cheers

If I had to guess, it was the red cans of regular Keystone, before the light version. (I still see those cans in one place, gas station/tackle store in Findlay near Shelbyville) Doubt Old Milwaukee, only bought those in the long neck returnables (along with Rhinelander and Huber) for $3.99-$4.99 a case. Bring back 2 cases, get a case of beer for $1, even free lol!

If there are 3K people there Saturday I would hope it would be staffed appropriately so people are encouraged to come back. You always want to make a good impression.

Was just on ticketmaster, the lower bowl looks to be selling fast. Should have a nice crowd out there Saturday! Hopefully lots of walk ups as well. Looks like they will need to open up the G/A seats for this one.

We used to get the Old Milwaukee returnable bottles when I lived at the brown townhouses by Molly's, they would always be dirty, have lipstick on the bottleneck, nasty cheap and delicious.

RE: Big basketball game Saturday
I know a lot of people think the MAC went from a 3 team race to a 2 team race after today with EMU and Akron now as the heavy heavy favorites Campbell out for the season with a broken foot for Ohio. Not a good injury for the conference. Ohio can still come in and destroy NIU though, NIU will have to shoot well to beat Ohio

Akron should win this game, but if the game was in Ypsi, I think EMU wins.

If NIU can upset the Bobcats Saturday, we may see NIU creep into top 25 in the new mid major poll Monday. Will be first time ranked in the poll since they went on their tough conference drop off after 6 or 7 games last season.

A nice crowd will help them. I hope people are aware of the importance of this game. If we have any shot at postseason we need to win this one. This will be a good game to watch. Would recommend to anyone on the board to try to make this one if you can. +3

If NIU can pull out a 2-1 record in these next tough very 3 games, would people come out to support the Tuesday Jan 31st game vs Akron. Talk about huge, that game would be immense if the Huskies can stay within a game of the Zips leading up to that game. Not sure if we have progressed to the point where fans will come to a weekday game,we will see hopefully.

Ritzhuskie, NIU will be in either the CIT/CBI postseason tourney with 5-6 more wins. I also think the loser of MAC title game goes to NIT but not sure.

Or else we can once again buy a berth in Las Vegas.

You have to pay to be in the CIT tourney but like Vegas you also were picked. You can't be 5-25 and just pay a fee and be in.

At least NIU earned their post season spot, more than I can say for 80% of the Big 10 that "earns" their spot as long as they show up for games haha. Ridiculous and embarrassing.

Akron wins 70-63 over EMUdespite going 17-38 from free throw line. Why doesn't the Akron coach teach free throw shooting? Akron 6-0. EMU falls to 4-2 Huskies lead MAC West by a half game going into tomorrow's game.
