When it comes to current events, I typically allow my students to give their opinions on how they think things should be. Then I take the opposite take on that opinion and force them to justify their position. Whether or not I agree with it is irrelevant. I am simply "stretching" their thinking. Sometimes they are able to articulate their position well and sometimes not. When they don't, it's usually because it was just something their heard their daddy say of something like that.
I understand. Watters gets a lot of those people that root for the Demon-crats. They don't even know why or what they're saying. I guess it goes both ways.

Yet according to the "educators" the solution is to throw more money at the problem.
